Unpopular opinion: We need  more rookies or new faces within the drama industry, especially as main leads.

Yesss media literacy is dead! I've noticed that in anime fans too. They'll label a character as a bad person (and tell people you're also a bad person if you like them as a character) because they've done something bad AS IF THEIR CHARACTER GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT ISN'T THE WHOLE POINT. Drives me crazyyy

OMG!!! Girl, I'm a huge fan of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. The worst thing about the adaptation is that the director just freaking changed EVERYTHING!!! The main character survives due to his love for a novel he reads; without it, he would no longer exist, BUT BUT BUT in the movie, the main character straight up says that the novel is the worst. Like what the heck!! That was literally the essence of the story.  And then the director blames the reader for the bad reviews.

I am so with you on no-kissing-scenes actors choosing romance and ruining it! it's fine if the story is written in a way that doesn't need kiss scenes, but most times choosing this kind of actor forces the story to change in a way that's not faithful to the message. see kim hee sun in everything, she has love lines, she can act like no other, yet her insistence not to do kiss scenes makes her dramas actively worse. more controversial opinion: actors who don't do romantic scenes are less skillful and way less professional than those who do. it's a job, do your part.

agreee on your take about adult scenes in kdramas. i have no problems if a kdrama caters to the more mature audience but we REALLY don't need you to full on show us the characters when they're doing the deed 😭 and i don't wanna come off as a prude by saying that, i don't wanna be the kind of person to be like "oh i watch korean dramas because western shows are just full of sex tits and balls" but seriously ENOUGH WITH THESE NUDE SCENES THAT DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY RELEVANCE TO THE SHOW

Explicit/mature korean, chinese and japanese dramas and movies  have always existed. Tubi is full of them. It's not sudden or new but they definitely exist and have an audience. And yes, don't take on roles you can't or refuse to do properly lol

Storytelling is 💯% more important than moral righteousness. The storyline just needs to capture relatability in some way.

It’s bizarre to me the way people say they hate characters for normal human flaws rather than judging if the storytelling technique was told well or believable.

Also I love love love LOVE dramatics but really 😟 getting hit by a car for 15 minutes from 200 different angles and the ant on the sidewalks pov ??

I’m with you on the characters not being too innocent. I love a good slap delivered by an MC. Sometimes they take too much from the villains and it gets to me. Why are y’all letting them do you like that.

I turned to Cdramas recently. I watched maby like 5 Cdrama and controversial Cdrama opinion : chinese beauty standards freak me out. Like I was already watching under weight unhealthy actors on kdramas but chinese actors are another level. Im not trying to body shame anyone but sometimes I physicaly recoil seeing them. Do they even eat?

On another note I didnt know horrid CGI was so common because I was crying_laughing seeing those CGI "wolfs" in everlasting longing

19:18 Which is crazy because Fated to Love You (also known as You Are My Destiny) had a similar plot where to two main leads got drunk and had sexy time (portrayed as them literally pounding mochi which was hilarious) and she accidentally got pregnant during the mishap. The series showed how they navigated through the situation. I loved it and that series was the main reason why I bothered to read positively yours.
