It was my dream when I was younger to be an interior designer but it seemed like an unstable job in my head (self-employed). I love hearing how it actually worked out for you and is stable under a corporation.

What a great informative video! Respect to all designers everywhere. So much tech, math and science - even business and finance that goes behind the scenes. Sigh Wouldn't it be a perfect world if artists were allowed to simply ART, and art alone... :D

If you're watching on your phone, remember you can hold down on the right side for x2 speed.
Noticed a few typos after posting - sorry I typed those out myself in a rush! :)

I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It was incredibly informative and beautifully designed! As a current senior in my bachelor’s degree program in interior design, I found your video to be an excellent summary of many of the questions I have about various industries. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this valuable resource!

Loved this video, Christine! Inspires me to want to make one too lol. There's so much more to being an interior designer and I appreciate all the hard work and attention to detail that designers put into each project!

Where does the interior designer’s work end and architects/engineers/carpenters’ start?
A) For example, if a project has a bespoke built-in, is that the interior designer’s job or someone else’s? If the former, how would you have the technical construction expertise to design a built-in?
B) My favorite spaces are ones that have beautiful finishes but are founded in truly innovative architecture, not ones that focus on furniture choices and wall treatments on a builder-basic backdrop. Do interior designers mostly work with the latter? If I were interested in the former, would you say that’s more of an architect’s job?

Thank you so much for this super helpful video! As someone who is looking to get into interior design in Canada is there a school program you recommend or any thoughts on the four year program you took??

I loved this video especially because I am studying Interior Design but I also would prefer the stability of working in a firm rather than starting my own business. I was wondering, in your current job do you work a lot from home or mostly at an office? Also, how is the work life balance?
