The military talk has always been something like a sensitive topic, we of course knew it was coming, and Lee Know has to be the first to enlist since Chan and Felix won't be going. Watching this as basically one of the first and few times they'd ever discussed it seriously was a rough one to get through. At the same time, I love how realistic Lee Know and Changbin are about it. They know that the military enlistment is inevitable and understand that those experiences can change people. Many idols have spoken out about how difficult military service is and how it can change their outlooks on life.

For a long time, even not long ago, the members had this mindset of "wanting to be the longest-running group" in history, that Stray Kids is their forever dream, and that they'd want to be on stage even at an old age. While the members did clarify after this video aired that SKZ is still their dream, I think them being more realistic about the possibilities that it could not be the case after military, or maybe not the same outcome for every member. I assume some members might want to start focusing on solo projects and other interests, maybe we'll be seeing Chan and Felix venture into that during the members' time away. I think STAYs have also taken into consideration the amount of work they've been putting out over the years, every time there is a quiet period, you have people saying they miss the kids, and people saying they wish they could have continuous rest. I know a forced break is not what people want, but at the same time they need to think about how to sustain the longevity of the team, because they can't keep at the pace they've been going at, honestly. The members are getting injured way too often for it to be okay. I know this fandom tends to dramatize things and this video definitely had people going a bit "it's over" regarding this conversation, but I think the members needed to reflect on where they are 9 years into their careers and where they will be in the next few years and if this will be changing moving forward. All in all, I just hope they have zero regrets and will continue being happy and healthy.

we don't know what the future holds (ever), but for me, seeing the BTS fandom and members this year so happy and relaxed and secure after the military service, I have hope for SKZ and STAY... though even if things do change, I'll forever be grateful for all that they have given us already.

The ending of this made me so sad but they made sure to reassure on Stays birthday that everything is going to be okay.

Felix wanting to go back to Australia someday but also wanting to stay close to the members, Chan staying quiet, the military conversations… it all shows just how much they mean to each other. You can tell they treasure this bond and don’t want it to change 🥹💘

i'm glad they finally talked about the military service bc a lot of fans have been catastrophizing about it for years and years. it will be sad ofc to not see them for a while, but i mostly just feel sadder for them being apart from each other and the things they love to do. maybe it's bc i'm older than all the skz members that i have a more relaxed feeling about it haha. i don't think their dream of being stray kids together for a long time will end; it'll just evolve and change into something a bit different.

the members had such a mature outlook on it in this video that it's reassuring (to me at least). it's realistic to expect that your life outlook might change after something like military service, but with all the hard work they've put in so far and how much they love their music and being together as a group and STAYs, i'm confident that all of them would come back. they also reassured everyone during the aug 1 seoul concert that all of them want to continue for as long as they can, but i think they just wanted to bring up military service at last so that STAYs can expect that the pace of things will change in the future, or they may have to adjust to a different kind of schedule. you're right that they already have such an insane output and haven't had a chance to rest for so many years, especially 3RACHA who have to worry about making the music and in bang chan's case an even higher amount of miscellaneous things that he has to manage. we're so lucky to have so much from them already!


it feels like skz's biggest worry is that STAYs will leave, and STAYs' biggest worry is that skz won't come back. so i think that shows we'll end up together again for sure. and now minho and seungmin are free to make all the military service jokes they want (they're already doing it 😂 2min are mutual menaces)

This Skz Log gave me all the emotions. I think most of the kpop groups are not meant to last that long starting the fact agencies create them, decide for their music, style, etc. With Skz and other groups that have been succeeded and where you can see the members are as close as you can see them I think even with the military service and if with the years group activities become more difficult, they usually find the way to stick the group together. My other 2 favorite groups are SNSD who actually today turned 19 years, you can see them have reunions every few months, some of them still create some content frequently and also they are preparing a big comeback for next year. And Super Junior, who turned 20 years last year and they never stopped, their comebacks come more seperatly than before, but still do a lot of content together, still going on tours, create more sub units, are in their 40s and they still saying that they want to do this for a long time. I hope same thing happens with Skz, but no matter what I'll support them, I'll stay

Believe it or not, they have taken a rest this year. I know it doesn't seem like it, but compared to last year, they have definitely slowed down since the award shows at the end and beginning of the year.
Sure, they have been releasing content like SKZ CODE, RACHA LOG, solo and OST songs, brand appearances, etc., but last year they were doing the same things whilst they were on a tour AND also working on releasing three albums which involved recordings and new choreographies for promotions, show appearances, etc., instead of just one this year.
I'm sure they were both physically and mentally exhausted. I'm very glad they were finally able to admit they needed and could afford to take a rest.
I can see that Lee Know could be being realistic about his attitude changing after being in the military. A lot of idols have talked about the difficult adjustment, and Lee Know has been very open about having periods were he's totally burned out. After all, he had been in the industry as a professional dancer for a while before he even joined JYP. He's also been hurt before, so he might be worrying about his physical endurance. Frankly, I don't think he'll be ready to quit when he comes out, but I think he might not be willing to continue the brutal pace they have endured in the past.

They care for each other so much and I genuinely never saw them happier than performing on stage.
However I think one of their biggest fear is that if they take a break or go to the military, people will lose interest in them and move onto the next thing. I wish they knew STAY are not going anywhere. I will support them even if they decide to just raise reptiles on a farm somewhere in Australia for the rest of their lives xD

Military service is a national policy and a very sensitive matter, so fans can only watch over it. That is why various speculations fly around as the time approaches. I think this is the first time a member has spoken so clearly about military service. My heart ached seeing Bang Chan trying not to cry.
As a fan, I naturally hope they will all promote together as eight even after finishing their military service, but if it keeps SKZ going for a long time, I think it's also fine for them to promote at their own pace, even if it's not as a full group.
We have been running for so long, so maybe it's time to stop and let each member look inward. No matter what decision they make, I want to support them and remain their safe place as STAY, just like before. My biggest wish is for them to be healthy and happy, both in mind and body.
