Terminator 2 is less of a horror movie than this one, but you can't stop here. You have to see Terminator 2. Ask anyone.

The Terminator: The only movie in which the sex scene was, inarguably, ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL to the plot.

Watching young people discover the movies I grew up with, is a joy.

A kid giving up an entire scoop of chocolate ice cream. That's the real horror of this movie.

The gun shop owner was played by the late Dick Miller.
In his long career he was in over 100 movies. He appeared in most of Joe Dante’s films (Gremlins) and starred in some for Roger Corman. He had a PhD in psychology and was beloved by everyone who worked with him.

I have always loved that Reese wondered what Sarah was thinking in the picture. And she was thinking about him.

This is why I love Kat's channel. Saying Ginger's boyfriend was nice was spot on. I have heard other reactors say Matt was creepy or a jerk. Kat can read a person's character better than most. She has the brains to tell Ginger's roommate and best friend adores Matt, and that alone shows he's a good guy.

I always thought it was great storytelling that Kyle always wondered what she was thinking about in that photo and why she looked kinda sad, and it turns out he fell in love with a picture of her, as she sat there thinking of him and how she loved him.

Such a great way to tie that together.

The scenes where Sarah ducks underneath the table just as the Terminator is looking over at her in the Tech Noir and the scene where Dr Silberman turns around just as the Terminator is walking into the police station always send chills down my spine.

The bit where Sarah yells "on your feet soldier" is such a powerful moment and a tiny glimpse of the incredibly strong person Kyle knows her to be.

I love that you appreciate filmmaking. You like the stop-motion rather than allowing the film to be dated by it. You see that the Terminator's head in the bathroom scene is a prosthetic but you're willing to see where they go with it. It's nice to see reaction videos from someone who doesn't think that they're "above" what they watch.

Fun fact. In the book (and you can see it briefly in the movie) the Terminator checked each of the Sarahs' for a metal pin in their leg because that was in an identifying medical record from their time. At the end, when Sarah pulled the pin out of her leg, that was the injury that made the medical record.

Watching her deduce a "theory" that the rest of the world has already known for several decades was priceless.

That's the thing about the "I'll be back" line. It was never written as or really intended as a big important one-liner, audiences just reacted to it in a totally unexpected way and it blew up into the 80s equivalent of what we'd call a meme today.

The innocents of the 1980s. If you had a phone, they published your name and address, and people thought: " How convenient." People who paid for an unlisted number were considered weird.

"You don't cradle and pet friends like that" - me: You don't?

"AVERT YOUR GAZE!!!" 😂😂

@nikolaast 2 years ago

Fun Fact: They originally wanted to cast OJ Simpson as the terminator, But James Cameron didnt think audiences could buy him being capable of violence.

My favourite part, and a sad fact, is when Kyle said that he always wondered what Sarah was thinking at that moment in the picture. And she was thinking in Kyle during that tape record. Lovers across time....
