Bill Murray is at his wry, wisecracking best in this riotous romantic comedy about a weatherman caught in a personal time warp on the worst day of his life. Teamed with a relentlessly cheerful producer (Andie MacDowell) and a smart-aleck cameraman (Chris Elliott), TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is sent to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities. But on his way out of town, Phil is caught in a giant blizzard, which he failed to predict, and finds himself stuck in small-town hell. Just when things couldn't get any worse, they do. Phil wakes the next morning to find it's Groundhog Day all over again... and again... and again.

Ralph has so few lines in the movie, but "That about sums it up for me" is delivered so perfectly.

"Oh yeah! Don't drive on the railroad tracks!"
"Well, Phil, that's one I happen to agree with."

"I THINK BOTH" and "TOO EARLY FOR FLAPJACKS?" are basically regular sayings around my household.

I love that whole sequence from the "How's tomorrow for you?" to the "Too early for flapjacks?". It's just masterful scriptwriting.

Bill Murray's laugh when he swerves in front of the train is the same laugh we hear when he swerves in the Mini Minor in his other great movie "The Man Who Knew Too Little".

"Do you want to vomit here, or in the car?" "I think both." Hilarious!

"that about sums it up for me" - this is the main line of the movie, this movie is about us living same day over and over.. with nothing changing, but us getting old.

One of the funniest moments is when he ordered sweet Vermouth with a twist of lemon and absently throws it down. The look on his face... priceless.

Ralph not only delivers the best line in the movie with "That about sums it up for me" but his physical comedy, struggling with the car handle, is also top notch. For a character who has so little screen time he stole the scene whenever he was in it. Props to that dude.

I believe they should release this for Ground Hog Day every few years and label it a sequel.

Interestingly enough, Gus's drunken commentary about Phil being a "...glass half empty kinda guy...", was very accurate. The angst and suffering Phil was dealing with was generated solely because he was upset with what he did not have, instead of what he had been given, and only after he makes every possible attempt to alter the circumstances of his experience, does he "Let Go" and instead respond and related to the events and individuals around him, and this change of perspective created an actual Wisdom or Spiritual Transformative within him, and as we know, it was only after that realization or internal transformation takes place that he is able to love, sacrifice and give, which frees him from the moment.

I love pissing off the wife when I wake up at 3am to pee and she opens her eyes, and I ask her, "Is it too early for flapjacks?" Gets her every time 🤣

"Let me handle this. Yeah uh two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda."
