I'm a white guy and my best friend is black. He went through all of this. He was called "too white" "uncle Tom" all because he wouldn't engage in the YN culture. Genuinely one of the most wholesome, and upstanding person I know too.

My dads car got stolen by 14-15 year olds and they only got community service, i saw my dad having to restart payments for a new car when he was almost half way done w the current car that got stolen. The DEFENDING of the behavior is insane lol

The problem with attempting to call out anything with the Black community is they use it and claim that you’re being racist against them and the victim mentality comes out and it becomes a whole big ordeal because you call out BS

The thing is, the hood isnt starving or dying of thirst. Theyre committing crimes for money so they can buy non-essentials. The whole welfare system is meant to keep poors from going crazy on the rest of us.

The other day I went to Greensboro with my mom which has a HIGH black population and unfortunately you can tell when you drive through there. And it’s a big city. One of the bigger cities in North Carolina. But I saw these two young black boys selling tea and/or lemonade “for school.” Idk if it was really for school or not, but it was nice seeing them actually sitting outside of this Rose’s actually providing a service for money. I walked up and just gave them about $4 and just told them to give the lemonade to someone else. And as I was walking inside I believe I heard them telling an older gentleman that he could have one because someone else paid for me. Made me feel good on their behalf.

I was born in the 70's. I'm a Black woman. Students labeled me as "Acting White" because I studied hard and was an A student. I read for enjoyment and a love of learning. I didn't speak in Ebonics and I was called a "White girl" even with my dark skin. I was well liked by my teachers and I was almost daily bullied for being a good student. When I graduated from high school and went to college, all of those students who bullied me remained in the hood. I've heard that a few of them who didn't turn out to be drug addicts died due to gun violence. I live in a majority White and rural area that is so peaceful and quiet. My two children are college graduates. It was difficult living amongst people who lacked morals and character, but thank God I found a way out.

Another thing I've noticed is if you see any black man or woman call out their community for the stupid shit they're doing, their community calls them "white washed". Why is acting like a normal human being and having respect for others being "white washed"- makes no sense to me.

But if you leave the hood, you’re seen as a “fake”, when in reality you just realized you lived in a bad environment and want out of it. It’s okay to leave and not look back. You need to focus on your future.

As a black man, I was blessed enough to have a family that cared about my future and wanted to be involved in my life. Regardless of my skin color I know that’s not true for other people. But at the end of the day the person in charge of your life is YOU ❤

I don't even want to hear that growing up in the hood is the reason these people act this way. I've known amazing people who grew up in the hood and never broke the law or acted out. They worked so hard and made something of themselves. People who want to act like "the hood is all they know" is insulting the people who find a way to live good lives in spite of it!
