We Appreciate you PatmanQC

Had no idea he passed. RIP, man. Your videos are top-notch.

The king of video game documentaries.  Thanks again PatMan!

Arkanoid Returns has 100 levels, you must put in a simple code after inserting your coin. You start on level 51 and goes to level 100, and DOH waits for you at the end.

I think it’s safe to say Woz did all the work

The best thing about Arkanoid is it ending/highscore theme. it sounds very 80's style scifi with sad feeling.

happy tot here u still sound healthy as ever

Wasn't into Arkanoid, but my 80's childhood wouldn't be what it was without it in the background of my memories. It was always there.

I had the same thing happen to me with Tetris.  I would see the blocks falling when my eyes were closed.  And it was always the exact shape I wanted.

Loved Arkanoid.  Fall of 1989, my freshman year at college, the campus center had a Tournament Arkanoid unit that I mastered completely.  Maxxing out your score involves building up a huge cache of lives and then purposely losing the boss board at the last moment until you're down to your final life, at which point you finally destroy the boss.

The C64 title music on that game, it was something else. I loaded up the game and listened to it while doing my homework, then played it for a bit with my Atari 2600 paddles which worked great.

The Japanese MSX cartridge  release did include the custom Vaus controller.  It's black with red spinner and button.    Arkanoid 2 came with a red controller with black spinner

LMAO at the blue capsule joke. I needed that.

Bonus points to the programmers of the Amstrad version. They reprogrammed the CRT controller to use the overscan area for graphics, making it the only version with a proper portrait orientation as opposed to having a sidebar with the scores etc.

Love that game... I always played it at the local arcade I hung out as a teen, rented it for the NES on a weekend and even played it on the Macs during computer class.

Nowadays I play Arkanoid Eternal Battle on Steam, it even has a nice Retro mode which is exactly like playing on an arcade machine with background noise.

Oh I remember playing this back in the 80s! So much fun 😊

Once again amazing marvelous and outstanding work for PatmanQC once again so BOOMSHAHLAKA!!!! ❤

Amazing history of big names behind this one, great stuff. The eye bleed on the Apple 2 was real. Tandy sound effects for the lasers are hilarious. Thanks Patman!

17:38, Arkanoid (III): Doh It Again also has its own Edit Mode as well, though it is not as robust as the other Edit Modes in other versions of the Arkanoid video games.  Also, it has the best rendition of the starting theme of an Arkanoid video game.

32:49 I haven't heard that much queefing since that bean-eating scene from Blazing Saddles LOLOLOL
