How To Find THE RIGHT KEY TO SING IN!

Before spending weeks learning to play a particular song it’s important that you check the key to the song suits your voice. If it doesn’t, you’ve wasted you precious time. However, there are some simple ways to get around having to relearn the song again as this short video will demonstrate.

Funny I know all this stuff now I'm getting near to 80 , but just one video like this 20 years ago would have saved me a lot of heartbreak over to many years , people don't realize HOW lucky they are to be able to watch someone like you for nothing . Good luck from Ireland

Hi Rob - enjoyed the lesson! It’s Don Felder who’s escaping your memory 😊. Spent a day playing golf with him in a charity event about 20 years ago- he’s a real gentleman and nice guy. Mark

"Extremely tight pants to hit the high notes!" I like that. I empathize with you.

What a great 2 for video! Using a capo and dialing your vocal key.

You are the best!! :-)) TY so much! What I really love about your lessons is that you have given me the power to sing and play on my own, since at 75 I do not always find people to play with so TY!!

Hey mate, just found your channel. Brilliant! I just needed the very last lesson, when it's too low on the first or second fret, think about octaves and move capo up the neck. Wow! Never thought to do that. I'm going to learn Dolly's "Here you come again" song and this was the very problem. She had a really high voice. But she was such a great singer, on that song she would get really soulful with it. Fantastic song. Hey, you are a fantastic finger pickers. Great job on the Beatles tunes. Very nice voice to boot. That's rare on You tube. The combination. Cheers. No, I'm not from England, Just a huge Beatles fan! lol.

Rob, as ever a great lesson and I find I end up with the capo on one of the first three frets a lot to suit my voice. Thee are some songs I still struggle with in terms of my voice works for most but then I can't take it up a register - like the end of White Rabbit for example, but I'm trying to go down in pitch for those. BTW, a mental image of the late great Norman Wisdom shouting 'Mr Grimsdale' brought a big smile.
