MY PLASTIC SURGERY JOURNEY BEGINS! 🩺✨

Before undergoing cosmetic surgery, there is a lot more that happens behind the scenes than simply showing up for surgery day.

In this video, I’m taking you back through my day-to-day journey of getting medically cleared for cosmetic surgery at Miami Life with Dr. Kaufman. This compilation shows the process of completing the necessary medical appointments, tests, labs, imaging, paperwork, and clearances that were required before I could move forward with my procedure.

For me, safety and health had to be number one. As exciting as it was to prepare for plastic surgery, I also understood that cosmetic surgery is still surgery. Making sure my body was medically prepared and that I was cleared by the appropriate medical professionals was an important part of the process.

Over the course of approximately two weeks, I went through the different steps necessary to obtain my medical clearance. This included getting my required laboratory work, breast imaging, mammogram, cardiology clearance, an EKG, a physician clearance letter, and additional medical documentation requested during the process.

One thing this experience really showed me was how seriously *Dr. Kaufman and Miami Life* approach their surgical clearance process. The requirements can feel like a lot when you're going through them, but I appreciated understanding that these steps are ultimately about making sure patients are appropriately evaluated before undergoing surgery.

*IMPORTANT:* Everyone's experience is different. Your medical clearance requirements can depend on your age, medical history, procedure, surgeon, surgery center, and the policies of the facility where your surgery is being performed.

Some surgical centers may perform many or all of the required tests directly at their facility, while others may require patients to complete certain testing through their own doctors, specialists, hospitals, imaging centers, or other medical facilities. In my case, I completed many of my tests and appointments through outside medical facilities before submitting the required documentation to Miami Life.

I'm sharing this portion of my journey because I want people who are considering cosmetic surgery to understand that **the preparation can be just as important as the surgery itself. This isn't meant to tell you exactly what you will need to do for your own surgery. Instead, it's an honest look at what my medical clearance journey looked like.

This is also the beginning of my larger plastic surgery journey, and I'm intentionally taking you through the process step-by-step — from the preparation and medical clearance to the experience surrounding surgery and everything that comes afterward.
