yo waddup chain

21:04 - 21:13 Thank you for using the word "plethora" here. Seriously, man, that word, it really means a lot.

The Submarine level was so goddamn endearing; give this poor soul SMBX2, unshackle their true potential

Why is that submarine level the cutest thing I've seen in my life

i was already really loving the submarine level (the effort... the investment... the care... the worldbuilding! he named all the bosses! the parts of the submarine! the note at the end that just says seaweed!!) and then at the clear screen saw he'd drawn lil PICTURES of all the bosses and i genuinely almost started crying. no one has ever cherished their level as much as beefsus i'm so happy for him dude

2:16 the edit on the level name was actually so slick. When simple said he misread the title as sunshine battle I was like “no way me too!” and then had to go back because I only realized something was off then. Massive props to the editor.

i was driving to get weed with my friend, and a peanut just flew in thru the window, and I caught it on accident, and I said, "Double it and give it to the next person" and threw it out the window

Beefsus be building with passion, keepin' Mario Maker in fashion.

I’m surprised simple didn’t build a replica bowser jr fight in the editor to practice cuz wtf was that muncher mechanic

Awwwwwwwww if i got a comment on my level by Simpleflips calling it epic and then when i watched the video he said he hated it I'd probably never touch my Switch again

that submarine level was really creative shoutouts to beefsus

The Boom Boom with a Muncher sequel NOBODY saw coming

26:25 JUNIOR WITH A MUNCHER (televised)

I like how at 45:42 Simple literally gaslights himself into playing great by narrating his own summoning salt bit

Can't believe I fell for the "Mario Sunshine Battle" edit, I had to rewind just to confirm that it did indeed say "Sunshine"

Potential new tech for explaining what an "Uncleared" level is: Considering how hard it is to define what an "Uncleared" level is, it could potentially help to describe a subset of all levels that AREN'T "Uncleared," a so-called "Un-Uncleared" level and then posit that any level that DOESN'T fit into this category is "Uncleared." IDK just food for thought.

Beefsus gotta be the Mike Picasso of mario maker

Okay so I used to make levels on this Mario flash game (Super Mario 63). What I loved doing was making big un-Mario levels on it. People already figured out how to do a bunch of glitches especially re: moving blocks. I used them to make graphical advances to essentially create entire storytelling little excursions using music and BBCode and all kinds of signs reused as actual dialogue since I was a writer. I think I encouraged a lot of people to do that and honestly they blew me away. Even though it wasn't intended (and purists got overly angry) it became very popular and was how I started my early dream of movielike storytelling. In like five, six years of Mario Maker I never saw that replicated until today with the submarine level and, holy shit does it make me feel very vindicated, as much as it reminds me of my dream. I'm genuinely happy that i saw this.

10:27 The beginning of TOO NEW

the fucking 2 hours time jump bit made me sit up in bed, mouth agape, shocked expression at how it could possibly be 2 hours. well done holy shit
