I miss the Academy bus service that used to leave from NY port authority bus terminal. 2.5 hours to AC Tropicana. They even gave you 30$ free slotplay. Weekday rooms were inexpensive. An inexpensive mid week get away.

I'll always remember all the buses pulling in to casinos getting the vouchers for use inside. Bus loads all the people, what fun it was. Just look at it now😢😢 miss it

I frequent AC at least every 3 months or so and I stay at Ocean. I feel absolutely safe anytime I visit, never had a issue

Maybe you self-corrected later in the video, but Lucy the Elephant is actually in Margate, which is the next town after Ventnor.

Back in the 80's I used to visit once a month, when I lived in R.I. Dangerous place back then. I was attacked once by an elderly woman when I dropped a quarter in the Resorts and when I went to pick it up, she pushed me out of the way claiming it was hers, so I dropped a few more to distract her so I could get away. Good times, lol. I never had any trouble even out in the neighborhoods. Now I live in Las Vegas, and I don't gamble anymore.

I’ve been going to atlantic city for years. Always felt safe on the boardwalk and other parts of the city. Just like any other city, I stay aware of my surroundings. Thanks for sharing this video.😊

Hello Philly Captain: The first casino in AC was Resorts Casino formerly the Chalfonte and Haddon Hall that served as a WW2 War Hospital. The Atlantic Casino was built by Steve Wynn called Golden Nugget in late 1970s then Hilton and Atlantic.

FYI you don’t want to walk the streets below the casino areas other than where the outlets are. We go frequently and would never stay in a hotel off the boardwalk other than the casino hotels or on the marina, such as the Borgata, etc. A lot of areas are very sketchy

Wow I can’t believe how much Atlantic City has changed since its hey day. Haven’t been there in years. Thanks for the great video.

My 93 year old mother gets comps there. I don’t and won’t gamble, but I enjoy her company. I’ve been taking the bus to Cape May. It’s my happy place!

That mall was so cool when it was opened a shame you can't go in anymore, the view on the roof is incredible

Welcome to my hood, Captain! Thank you for mentioning that you didn't feel unsafe, many tourists are afraid to leave the casinos, and we are so much more. How do we bring the city back, you ask? We need leadership with integrity and vision. How often do I go to beach, every chance I get. I truly enjoyed seeing my city thru your eyes!
Yo Cap, I am part of the 'all the way club'.

I love AC!!! Camden County born and raised. I used to take the bus to AC when I was a teen. My parents would've freaked. I also took the Speedline to Philly. I'm a wandering man...

The good news: you can get a nice house. The bad news: you're living in New Jersey.

Watched all the way through. I don’t go there much but it’s good to see some of the places that are open. I felt safe during the day, but not outside at night.
