Phenomenal show , the manner in which they captured the gritty atmosphere of NYC during that time period and the development of all the characters as they broached very sensitive subjects. Simply off the charts outstanding show . Sorely missed in todays world .
I'm still amazed how good it was. I'm still watching it. I'm on the 5th season and still going. But I still find myself looking at bits of season 1 or 2 or 3, but I'm still looking to watch it all the way through. Watching Sipowicz transform into a better person than he was on the first episode, seeing the cast evolve, and getting an idea of the culture of New York, different cases they took, personal struggles, and dedication to their work.
Hill Street Blues, Homicide Life on The Street, and NYPD Blue: Top 3 cop shows of all time! Never matched or bettered. Though The Shield came very close.
