In this episode of Silly Point, hosted by Asif Khan, former chief selector Mohammad Wasim and former Test fast bowler Tanveer Ahmed analyze Pakistan’s upcoming T20I opener against Sri Lanka, player form, and structural selection policies.

The panel discusses Pakistan’s batting approach, with Tanveer Ahmed emphasizing that setting targets of 200–225 is essential to compete in modern T20 cricket. Addressing head coach Mike Hesson’s focus on high strike rates, the discussion explores whether Pakistan’s lineup can successfully execute this aggressive style on the field.

Mohammad Wasim stresses the importance of respecting domestic cricket performance, arguing that consistent domestic top-performers must be guaranteed national selection to maintain a healthy competitive structure. The experts also raise concerns regarding Saim Ayub's selection and current form, questioning his contribution with the bat and overall role as an all-rounder.
Turning to bowling choices, Mohammad Wasim highlights the uncertainty in Pakistan’s playing XI, pointing out that beyond two or three names, no bowler holds a secure spot.

Finally, the show examines Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s recall to India's T20I squad after four years, with Wasim and Tanveer praising India's willingness to reward domestic consistency and experience.
