The entire Moonflower album is amazing.  I used to play the cassette (yes I'm  old) on repeat.

You should listen to all of Moonflower. Incredible musicianship, on huge variety of music. I honestly don't know why this album isn't considered one of the true greats!

Santana is one of the best bands in history. Carlos is just pure emotion. One of the greatest guitar players ever.

70’s Santana is always 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Deep cuts are the best

I was fortunate enough to see Santana eight times live in various venues. Always delivered the best and diversity of music. This album was always one of my favorites, this song is magic.

Moonflower is imo Santana's best album.

For many years Moonflower (cassette at first, later CD) would get the main spot in my car hi-fi as soon as the summer sun showed its face. And wouldn't leave it until the end of September.

My favorite Santana guitar solo is on a song called "Song of the Wind", from the album "Caravanserai". You need to check out his jazz-fusion trilogy, "Caravanserai", "Welcome", and "Borboletta".

Favourite album. Favourite song.

My favourite Santana composition.
Tom Coster does a masterful job imitating Santana's guitar phrasing with the synthesiser.

The first solo that starts at 5:37 is not Carlos's guitar but Tom Coster...most likely on his Moog. Carlos's guitar kicks in at 6:53.
I'm almost 64 now. 1977 at the age of 14 my parents gave me the Moonflower Album for Christmas as I told them I love guitar solo's. It had just been released and the guy at the record shop recommended it when they asked for a good guitar album. I had never heard of Santana before but that day I fell in love with their music and had the same emotional reaction....actually every aspect of it but mostly Carlos's playing. All my life I dreamt of how wonderful it would be to be able to play such music....but never actually tried to learn to play....until I was 50. Practiced my ass off and after 5 years I decided to start my own Santana Tribute band.....that was in 2017. Fast forward to now august 2026...the band still exists and gigging is still as fun as it was the day we started. Santana has made many masterpiece albums, but Moonflower has always been my favorite by far.

one of my all time favorite songs

Walter, man, you don't even know. Santana has done things you would never think of, nobody listens to his albums on here. I think you should, absolute killer discography and he always kept it fresh and new.

One of my favorite albums. So many great tracks (live and studio). Every bit of this song is perfection.
I saw Santana in this era…$11 for 5th row tickets at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.

The great Greg Walker is the singer. Tom Coster is incredible on the keyboards. One of my favorite songs of all time!

I saw them on that tour. They played for three hours and 90% of the crowd left and while a few hundred of us were waiting for traffic to let up, they came out with house lights on and played twenty more minutes.

Santana has made over two dozen albums and ALL of them are surprisingly good and unique from 1969 to the present. Last year, I did a deep dive of all his albums and was shocked that nearly every SONG was fire.

Santana - 'Welcome' is another surprising album.

I think your mind would be blown if you listened to all of Santana's early 1970s albums starting with their first eponymous titled Santana, Abraxas, Santana III, Caravanserai, Welcome, Amigos, and Borboletta. Santana was much more experimental in these albums with his explorations in jazz, latin, psychedelic and rock. Yes, Carlos did indeed make music with McLaughlin and their album Love, Devotion and Surrender is a classic.

1970s Santana is best Santana
