After the chaos of EP4, Hell's Gate Roadhouse was exactly what the crew needed. A cold drink and a chance to regroup. But Day 9 isn't waiting around—Nick's 200 Series throws up a suspension bolt issue on his morning checks, and before we've even left the roadhouse
we've got the welder out.

That sets the tone for what turns out to be one of those days where the roads fight back. The corrugations and rough country heading towards Seven Emu Station in the NT are unlike
anything we've driven on this trip—and our gear starts paying for it.

But somewhere in between the welding and the repairs and the bull dust, there's a freshwater river system that nobody talks about, some epic wildlife encounters, and a sunset camp on a cliff edge that makes every broken bolt worth it.
