Deltarune Chapter 4 includes what may be the easiest of the Secret Boss fights yet. But the first tells a beautiful story, teaches lessons and hints at the future of the game. While the second is an insane fever dream, directly messing with the fans!

Once I'm done going through both chapters, I'll compile this series in a similar way. Be sure to leave any cool details you've caught and want to see covered in the comments below!

17:22 Gerson doesn’t have a full screen attack, just a full box attack, further proving that he didn’t use the Shadow Crystal!

A great detail when you beat Gerson: Susie's status changes. Now she's the Axe of Justice, carrying on Gerson and Undyne's legacy!

I ended up getting into Mike's Room early on my first playthrough. My thought process was this:

4 digit code.
Mike is 4 letters.
...?
What if... Mike is the code?
Open my phone...go to phone app.
Look at the numbers... MIKE... 6453...
[SUCCESS] NO SHOT, THAT FUCKING WORKED

Something kinda important you didn't mention is one of the flavor texts during the Mike battle is "smells like dried gel pen" strongly implying Mike's room in the light world is the copy of the cat petterz RPG in Kris' room which specifically mentions having Catty and Catti's name written on it in gel pen

in the mike room you can also put the chest on your head as a hat

fun fact: pluey is a misspelling of the word for rain in french, pluie.

People always point out that it's how you spell "MIKE" on a phone keyboard and never that it's how you spell it on a remote control keyboard...

I like how we have completely adopted the green pippin as the physical representation of the fandom’s theories

There are some details you missed in the gerson fight where if you don't "impress" him enough, his dialogue makes a callback to what he said in undertale while also using harder attacks.

Words cannot express how damn happy I get whenever I see any Gerson scene in chapter 4, specially his boss battles.
Everything about him is just... Comforting and kinda nostalgic, and come on, I can't be the only one that just remembers the way he "dances" in his boss idle animation whenever I feel blue and just smile

I find it interesting that Gerson says that "there was only one more chapter" after discussing what we presume is chapter 5.
I wonder if chapter 6 will give us a "fake ending" in the roaring happening, and chapter 7 will be the fun gang taking the white pen and making their own ending. Or something along those lines.

49:44 it isn’t unused in undertale during the temmie fight if you say no to giving her temmie flakes that song will play

@jkljosh7392 1 year ago

44:14 I think it reminds Kris of whatever is going on with Dess and their dad, given that Asgore also has a conspiracy board

The "chariots" mentioned COULD also reference the final fight, in which the mech could be considered an abstract sort of chariot.

idk if anyone else has said this but your voice for gerson is pretty good lol definitely makes watching these vids fun even tho i already did the fight

@rustyricardo6532 1 year ago

8:00 The song from the sea is probably not Gerson, as you can visit the shore with Susie after closing ch4’s fountain, and she can still hear it.

I feel like the Mike fight is super underrated an wished it got more attention

The “heroes do battle in chariots to save the queen” could mean two things, battling berdly to save her from berdly’s “annoyingness” or it could mean battling Spamton Neo because it is implied that the Neo body is very, very powerful, and Spamton took over the mansion in a very short amount of time with it in the weird route

@willowphoenix5926 1 year ago

I'm pretty sure that if you specifically don't get the Shadow Mantle or beat the Knight, but have beat the two previous secret bosses, Seam has the dialogue that was directly foreshadowed in the Spamton Sweepstakes.
"If only you had the power of the SHADOW MANTLE, things might have gone another way. No Mantle, no Crystal."
