Captain Gosling: Fighting U-Boats and Tuberculosis since 1939

RAEDER, DONITZ WHERE IS MY AMMUNITION

17:05 You ran into a Q-ship, ship meant to appear as a merchant, but is secretly armed so that U-boats would attempt surface attacks

Drydock crew: Captain? How did your Uboat take so many direct hits from the enemy?
Captain Gosling: I wanted Royal Navy to know fear

DÖNITZ! RAEDER! WO IST DIE VERDAMMTE MUNITIONEN!

mfw when my superior tells me I'm being transferred to Captain Gosling's Uboat crew

i love just skipping time and suddenly being in the middle of a convoy

Being part of Captain Gosling's crew must either be extremely rewarding with the amount of tonnage you've sunk while in service and or extremely stressful because of the situations you have to endure. At least you get plenty of 2 week vacations in the Alps I guess.

Yeah I call bull on Captain Gosling not getting pulled after this. Sinking the Rodney is one thing but kicking in the teeth of Gibraltar command and winning with only three casualties would make him the most decorated war hero in not just the Kreigsmarine but all of Germany. There are captains who got pulled for propaganda after sinking a handful of merchant ships meanwhile our dear captain is striking terror on capital class, and hunter ships alike.

the reason it took so many torpedoes to sink battleship rodney was because the torpedoes kept hitting the same compartment, i think you could have finished it off with the first 3 if you set the displacement of the torpedoes to 50 or 75 m

Crew: Mann über Bord!
Captain Gosling: we do not care

Can we retroactively deduce that if you hadn't left, the game wouldn't allow Italy to capitulate AND if you had escorted the ships to Tunisia, they would have forced the north african fromt open again?

Fun fact: it is easier to hit your torpedos if you fire them one at a time.

when you fire two torpedos at once, one torpedos gets aimed at the front of the ship you're aiming at and the other gets aimed at the back of the ship you're aiming at.

when you fire one torpedo, it aims for dead center of the ship you are aiming at. it is better to fire 2 torpedos in two times than 2 torpedos at once.

The King of U Boat is back, its good to see you again admiral

To fight the allies and beat TB Captain Gosling would have to be… (title card) 0:43

15:15 This was for the Bismarck!

I really enjoy the adventures of Kapitänleutnant Gösling

The plot twist at 10:10 is WILD

This is like rewatching Das Boot all over again. In a good way.

"How do you know so much about U-Boat warfare in the Med?"

"i know a guy"

Man this game is giving huge Silent Hunter flashbacks and i'm here for the story of Gosling and the crew
