Let’s Read is a national treasure

The first story is why everyone ought to take a 'Stop The Bleed' class. Learning how to use a tourniquet is one of the best things you can learn right up there with learning cpr and the heimlich maneuver.

Joel needs to organize a meetup, you know, how big YouTubers do, but in his version we're in deep scary woods around a campfire and he's telling us stories in his smooth voice, and we're so relaxed we're not paying attention to the rustling between the trees. Yes, it would be a one-off event.

In a world full of text to speech and ai reading I’m just glad to find more channels like this, I find real human voices way more interesting and makes me way more interested in the story!

That first story is terrifying. It’s bad enough to have a horrific injury like the friend did but then to be shot at while trying to get back to your vehicle is an even worse kind of terror. I’m so glad to hear they’re all okay after that.

Love the Lost themed intro lol

Out in middle of woods in my tent listening to this right now.

I really appreciate the way he changes tone and gives character and personality to each different person in the stories with his voice. So so good :D The effort is really appreciated.

Dinner while listening to Joel is 10/10

My favorite go-to sleep channel ever

Nothing like getting all cozy in bed, ready to sleep, and then deciding.. hey, let’s listen to some horror stories and crank that anxiety up to 100.

The bug story really hit me. Lol!  When I lived in Washington years ago, I drove a diesel car. So I got my fuel at some sketchy places, like where industrial truck fill up. I wasn’t intimidated as I worked around and with heavy equipment. One day I pull in to get some fuel and I look down and see a massive beetle.  MASSIVE!  Big enough I didn’t want to step on it. And I certainly didn’t want to get close enough to fill up. Keep in mind, I was a young woman functioning in a man’s industry. So I wasn’t the helpless female type. I went in and asked one of the guys to come out and fuel me up. He looked at me like, you got hands. So I had to admit there was a bug…do you know how stupid that sounds??  They laughed at me but someone finally agreed to come out. As soon as he saw it he yelled for his buddies to come look. They had fun messing with that thing. I was just glad they got it moved so I could continue my fuel fill up. Never saw anything like it before or since. Traveled all over the world with that job and never saw any beetle that big. At least they weren’t laughing at me after they saw it!  😂

That rusty bear trap story is exactly why this guy always carries a walking stick in the woods.

I love living in the Pacific Northwest. Bigfoot territory is beautiful

I LIVE for anything outdoors that you post.

Rainy night with let's read.
Perfection!

As a Washingtonian, I appreciate the "Ridgway" and Pasayten Wilderness references.

First aid tip if you ever are in the situation of being caught in a bear trap like in the first story. Get a tourniquet on asap. Those old traps are meant to do a ton of damage to a year's leg so a humans stands no chance. Get the bleeding under control first. As for the shooting, what their friend did by providing cover fire is really the best option you have.

Ridgeway story was insane

This is my first video. I subscribed during the second story about the Marshals. Finally, a storyteller that isn't AI or dull. Looking forward to binging some videos!!! Looks like I have a lot to catch up on.
