As an Auburn fan, I’m proud of our 133 national titles, I thought we were gonna miss one in 2012, but the hardees cashier said we were National Champions, so that was a close one.

claiming a national title bestowed upon you by the “what, do I need a toaster’s license to operate a toaster?” guy should invalidate even their consensus national titles

Potential hot take: there shouldn't be a singular national championship, especially for the early years.

Short answer: no
Long answer:

150 years of college football? I wonder what number you'd get if you added up every national title every team claims.

Not right before work😢... Now I have to wait 8 hours to watch the GOAT

video suggestion in a similar vein to this. The most legit unclaimed national titles

Also empire could you possibly do some of the most underrated teams that nobody even recognizes

To me nothing tops Oklahoma State trying to claim 1945 over Army, which was literally an all star team and by a wide margin the best team in history to that point

I would argue that because Auburn was banned from bowl games in 1993 due to violations, they shouldn't be able to claim that one.

2004 Auburn USC would have been one of the best football games of all time

Huge shout out for playing Bonobo at 8:14 and BADBADNOTGOOD in the last chatper. I'd definitely listen to an EMPIRE playlist on spotify

Has Yale Won Twenty Seven National Titles?

Another thing to consider in the absolute dumpster fire that is the pre championship era is that for decades the AP and Coaches bowl would potentially have different champions bc the AP crowned their champion at the end of the regular season and the Coaches at the end of bowl season. How on earth it took us over 100 years to attempt to get the top two teams to play each other is beyond comprehension.

I’d love to see a video like this for other teams too! Pittsburgh, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, or even Ole Miss’s championship claims.

LMAO had no clue Auburn claimed a natty over 1958 LSU and Billy Cannon

Retroactive titles from the pre poll era are all highly suspect to me. You can go back decades later and look at statistics and determine who was the best team? I think not.

I think 2004 holds pretty well since USC technically had that vacated

instantly liked the video for the BBNG song. add that to the Stereolab song from another video (can't remember which), just so good

Me: (throws football once)
I am now National Champion 🏆
