After recent visits to Kursk, the Kursk Region, and Belgorod, we're heading to Shebekino in the Belgorod Region and a little further afield. In the Belgorod Region, I also had the chance to meet volunteers, or rather, one of them – Svetlana. Her work is different from that of the volunteers I met in Kursk, Orel, the Kursk Region, and Belgorod. While volunteers in these cities helped refugees from the Kursk, Belgorod, and Kharkiv regions, and other places forced to leave their homes due to the Russia-Ukraine-West conflict, Svetlana in the Belgorod region (Shebekino and nearby villages) helps pets (dogs), which, to my surprise, some Shebekino residents abandoned when they fled their homes. She brings food to the dogs abandoned by their owners, because there's essentially no one to feed them right now.
