Diehard Raiders fan, and I’ve always said that Derek Carr was fine. Not awful, not incredible. But when he was on fire, dude was nuts to watch. When he was off, it was very hard to watch.

How dare the algorithm keep this from me for 52 godforsaken seconds

Basically the Archie Manning of the 21st century. An above average quarterback stuck on terrible teams with really bad luck

A lot of Raiders fans dissed him mercilessly and blamed him when the organization sucked. Obviously he isn’t a HOFer but finding a guy even as good as Derek Carr is pretty hard to do

Derek Carr is the Murphy's Law of QBs

David Carr is still alive? whoa

This will go well...Raiders fans are known for having calm takes.

Underrated. This is to say that people generally talk about him as trash and he was always pretty solid.

As a Fresno state alumni and Raider fan.. man it broke my heart to see him retire and even more so when he got injured in 2016. Still proud a fan

As a life long die hard Raiders fan who breaks down Raiders film for fun during the season… This is probably the best internet sports video I’ve ever watched on the internet. 100% accuracy with this DC career breakdown. Please bring us more of this. Thank you for the video sir.

As a die hard Raiders fan I will always have love for Carr no matter what

I always been sayin he better than what ppl give him credit for

I'm a proud Fresno State alum, and I had the chance to watch Derek Carr play during my undergrad years — he was so good. Watching him light up defenses every Saturday was something special. As a Broncos fan, I always hoped he’d end up in Denver, but unfortunately, that never happened. Still hurts a little, especially since he spent so many years wasted  in a Raiders uniform.

As a die-hard Raider fan, mostly accurate video. I would say he elevated though. The way I see it, he elevated a basement level team/organization to be about middle of the pack. Did he elevate us to being Super Bowl contenders though? Other than 2016, no. But that's more on the coaching/coordinator turnovers, bad drafting (especially with defensive players 😳), bad free agent signings, bad ownership decisions, and more, all things that were above Derek Carr.

Derek did what he could with what he was given and never complained about it even when he had every right in the world to, and for that, he's a Raider legend to me. He deserves a lot more love and praise than what he gets from other members of Raider Nation who aren't as aware.

All those qb's named that had all those touchdowns had receivers. Cmon man

I hope ventriloquist Darren Carr is unironically their parent’s favorite kid.

His exceptional trait was his last minute take the team down field and get the job done not choke..he was clutch

7:35 jesus christ that delhomme stat line

As a lifelong Raider fan, I can state that the Raiders didn't suffer because of Carr... Carr suffered because of the Raiders.  He helped far more than he ever hurt, and behind the scenes... something most don't talk about cause we're focused on what happens on the field... he was a true leader.  The guys in the locker room loved him.  When guys would have issues in their personal lives, Carr was the guy that would call them, visit them, try to help and support them, etc.  When Ruggs f'ed up his life... Carr was the one that went to see him, to pray with him, etc.

Lots of people give Carr grief for being good, but not good enough... but he had an unstable owner, a coaching carousel his whole career, almost never had more than 1 real #1 target to throw to, almost never had a solid running game, defense, or o-line, and those seasons where he did... the other things would all disappear, lol.  When our running game and o-line came together, we had the 30th ranked D in the league, lol.

As this video mentioned, the one really good year the Raiders put together... where they had a real team and was a contender and could have won 1 or 2 post-season games... maybe more... he got hurt right before the playoffs, and we got smoked by a shite Texans team we had beaten already, just a couple of weeks earlier in Mexico.  After that, the Raiders stated being the Raiders again, and we were never able to put a whole team together again.  Good O, but no D.  Good D, but no O.  Things starting to go right, so we fire the coach, trade a key player... whatever.

I really hope history is nice to Carr.  He was a good player, a GREAT human, and the Raiders' woes were never his fault... he just happens to be the QB so he gets to take the heat...
