We’ll walk through the full process step by step using a cool-peel printed DTF transfer, pressing at 310° for 10 seconds, letting it cool, and pressing again with firm pressure. I’m demonstrating this with both a heat press and a Cricut EasyPress, and you’ll see some of the real struggles beginners face with pressure and consistent heat. You don’t need to prep your wood for this method, but you can paint, stain, or seal your wood if you want a different look. Since these DTF transfers bond beautifully to wood, you also won’t need to add any sealant afterward. Great video! Last year, I bought a bunch of 3" wooden disc ornament blanks and pressed some medieval art DTF transfers onto them. Voila--I had Christmas gifts for all my friends.

One of these days I’m going to rewatch all your videos and try and pay attention so I can learn. I have that big pressy thing from Cricut I’ve had for two or three years…never out of the box! Mainly because I am afraid I’ll use the wrong kind of vinyl and end up with a melted mess on my shirt! I do use my Cricut for paper, but never cut vinyl because I done know what kind of vinyls go on what. Plus I’ve bought vinyls, but I don’t know which kinds I have! sigh

Regarding pressing heat and time for your DTF, I suggest that you put all the designs from one source in an envelope together with a note stating the manufacturer, heat, and timing, especially if you have used more than one source for your designs.

Hopefully one could use the back side as a light use cutting board, and hand wash and it would hold up. 🤔

Does anyone know if you can use DTF on canvas? Have a customer wanting a wedding sign and I think it should work but would like to know beforehand if anyone has the answer. TIA
