I love these vids. But the gods of grammer demand that i point this fact out: the plural of thanks (singular) is thanks (plural). There is no thankses. Be assured: all grammerly sins be forgiven!
I watch these guys for two reasons. Watching wood going through a mill is remarkably relaxing, as long as I'm not the one at the controls. And there are three fellas named Mark in one place. I'm also Mark. We need to stick together.
From his comment, looks like Jimbo is jealous of the blog you had to work with. How many total board feet did you get out of it? My last name is Bonham, a proud 6th generation Texan who made their first appearance in Texas in 1821.
Went to a Wood Expo in Charlotte, MI. They had some fantastic domestic woods there, Sassafras, Walnut, Hickory, Cherry, Oak, Birch, Beechwood, they didn't have American Holly or Osage Orange, sadly but what I got was some Wenge, an exotic for a gift to my cousin.
Barrel milling are a waste of good word you will never get the board feet out of a log by barrel sawing but you will if you open by box sawing a log. A sawyers job is to get the best amount of grade lineal feet out of a log that he can, and it is imposable if you open with barrel sawing. Mark you are wasting your time. Jimbo!
