Played this game since launch on the Sega Megadrive (good times) but only found out over 30 years later (at time of uploading, was just recording a video to check how the quality would look with OBS Studio & CapCut out of boredom) you can cheese the opening stages of the final boss in Sonic 3 & Knuckles or at least you can in Sonic Origins LMFAO ... I didn't buy this until 2024, was expecting another re-re-re-release by Sega before the nostalgic urge to replay the classics became too much*.
Then followed through with my fastest Doomsday Zone completion ... *Last time making it this far into Sonic 3&K was 2012 on the Nintendo DS version of the Sonic Mega Collection & wasn't expecting to blitz through this zone so easily.
Reading the comments since posting & doubting majority are reading the description... quick breakdown of everything about this video a bit more...
Q: "Where's the Cheese?"
A: When recording the video this was the 1st time since 2013 reaching this point & I have a real problem with memory loss I honestly forgotten that just Spin Dashing before the giant Robotnik's fingers hit you, prevented you from taking damage, so thought I'd rediscovered a cheap way to fly through the final Boss Fight 😅 (tried it fighting Knuckles & he still hit me when he'd Spin Dash into Sonic 😂)
Was also quite surprised at how much easier it was going through the Doomsday Zone especially after not playing it for such a long time but I guess that was cleared probably faster than ever before, thanks to Wide-screen being added in Origins instead of the standard resolution from the Megadrive (good times) getting reused on the PS2, Nintendo DS, PC & XBOX 360 up until Origins was released.
Q: More about the video & what's next?
All game videos on channel are casual playthroughs, not walkthroughs or "tips & tricks" etc... excluding the Rage 2 "Over The Limit" video which retraced a path taken to unlock the Steam Achievement & Cyberpunk 2077 video "Where Eagles Dare" which acts a basic guide to unlocking a car after completing certain side jobs in game.
I recorded this video to test how it would show up with OBS Studio & CapCut UHD output for a planned series full playthroughs (One for Sonic & Tails, Tails & Knuckles). But after recording the first playthrough in July 2026, my computer has broken down & I'm unable to recover the video or get the computer fixed so all plans for further videos from games are now on hold until I can get a new PC... when that will be, I don't know 😕
Nothing on this channel is to be "taken seriously", this video was made for fun.

This level was always such a nerve-wracking experience, if you had less than 70 rings before the 1st stage of the boss with the missiles needing to be guided to hit Robotnik, you'd be fucked! SO satisfying to beat this again 😌 but I was hoping for more of a challenge like I remembered... can't believe how quickly this ended...
