Also a slight fun fact: The Japanese version of GT4 Prologue uses the same file formats as Gran Turismo 3 and Concept, and as such, it's possible to backport GT4P tracks and cars to GT3 with a bit of effort (GT4P cars do not have nighttime models, however).

Fun fact: the narration (e.g. at 3:45) was done by Vicki Butler-Henderson, who was a presenter on Top Gear in the '90s and Fifth Gear, a racing instructor at Silverstone, and worked in a number of other car-related fields.

My brother played this and found it 16 years later, still gives me memories.

Not just a voice actor! That's Vicky Butler-Henderson, previous host of Top Gear and Fifth Gear. alongside Tiff Needell and Quentin Wilson. Bit of a blast from the past!

The only thing I remember about GT4: Prologue is being disappointed that it wasn't the full game!

Vicki Butler-Henderson was the perfect choice for the voice-over in this game. A hell of a driver and years of being on TV for motoring shows means she can really sell what she's saying. Most people in their teens and twenties around the release of this game would have immediately recognised her from then Fifth Gear and previously Top Gear so again, perfect choice.

The Gran Turismo prologue are strangely familiar yet so oddly different.

Actually there's a lot of Gran Turismo 4 "beta" or prototype like 'Prius Trial Version', Test Drive disc and more.

PS. Love the HUD of GT4 Prologue.

I may heard of Top Gear, but now I know also about the existence of Vicki Butler-Henderson and she's not just a notable former host but she's also a race driver according to Wikipedia as I visited an article about her last time. Also I am quite loving her voice also btw 💖💖

14:35 I was disappointed for a moment that we didn't get the fun and silly acting...
But James to the rescue! Thanks for a funny moment of laughter with that one :D

Alto Works was, and still is a solid, legendary grass roots Rally Car.
In Japan, obviously.

Well, Wreckfast has a "Prologue" like this, only it's a Demo and it's very cool even as a Demo

I instantly remembered Vickies voice. So strange while the rest of the GT series has basically no voice acting at all.
I play GT5 prologue ( because normal GT5 doesnt run right on emulator) and its a nice demo that just cuts alot of unnecessary stuff and just keeps the good basics...
Poor GT4 devs, got a year left, decided to overhaul the physics and now get roasted for it :)
