The fact that this wasn’t in the movie just makes me want to rage.

Even as a grown man, I still can’t escape the ways of how special this game has always been to me…😢

The Gateway Galaxy was a lot nicer before they turned it into an airport...

This music fits so well with the emptiness of the comments section...

Now THIS is how you kick off the game proper after the intro at Peach’s Castle. It captures the beauty and mystery of both Rosalina and space itself, as well as the playfulness of the Lumas/Star Rabbits. This has always been Rosalina’s theme to me. Rosalina in the Observatory may have her name in the title, but that’s more the theme of the Comet Observatory itself.

I actually cried. Uncontrolled tears were shed. I loved this game.

Gateway Galaxy Is confirmed in the Mario Galaxy movie With it's movie poster

Everyone's talking "this theme this" and "this theme that" but nobody knows about the theme that plays when you have yet to collect a revealed star. It's a wonderful, calming background music. Try it. Beat a grand star galaxy but don't just collect the star. Wait and listen to the background music and hear the twinkling of the star. It's beautiful. And I need you to spread this knowledge.

This makes me feel calm yet wistful...I miss those days.

I'm a huge astronomy nerd and this makes me think of standing on a planet around a dim isolated red dwarf star in the emptiness of space

Here to cleanse my palate from the latest Mario movie. This just makes me feel much better

It’s enough to make a grown man cry…

and that’s okay. 😢

For those who may have stumbled here by accident, or perhaps you chose this video intentionally...indulge me, if you would, to a little story.

"There once was a young boy that lived in the vastness of space. He would drift around within a sea of stars, counting them one by one to pass the time. He had the prevledge of witnessing the births and deaths of stars, the creation of new planets, and the awe-inspiring awakening of a black hole. Every day he witnessed a new, beautiful part of nature. Some would say his life is carefree. Others would say he leads a perfect life.

But I tell you this. In his grandiose adventures in the cosmos, the boy will go his entire life without seeing what you and I see. He will never see a flower-filled meadow. He will never pet a fluffy dog. He will never see a rainbow, or enjoy the quiet of the snow. The boy will never watch the ocean waves crash against the shore. He will never see the goodness in other people."

So let me ask you, internet traveler. Do you envy the boy? Or perhaps, do you prefer the life you have? I assure you that both have its ups and downs, its triumphs and sorrows, its struggles and accomplishments. But maybe...just maybe...instead of longing for an escape, we take a moment to appreciate the miracles in our lives. Because like the boy in space, we witness them every day. It's just up to us to look for them.

It's up to us, dear internet friend. Safe travels, I wish you well.

Please bring me back in time.
I wanna go back to the time where I could play this game peacefully and fall asleep bc of this beautiful music

Over 10 years ago, I tried to learn this piece on the piano. I didn't have a piano at home at the time, so I'd practice the arpeggios on my mom's two octave midi controller, which of course made it impossible. I didn't know how to read sheet music, so I wrote down a "translation" note by note on the sheet, despite not being able to know so clearly where the notes were on the keyboard. That same year, I started introductory piano lessons at my city's public music school, and I showed this sheet music I had been using to my teacher. The guy said i shouldn't waste time with videogame music, and that it's not real music.

I stopped playing during my teenage years, but decided to try playing the piano again now, on my late 20s. I hope this time I'll be able to play this piece like I've always wanted. I tried yesterday by memory and it was incredible how my hand still knew the exact notes for that starting arpeggio. It never forgot

Gosh if there's one thing that i'm concerned about the movie is that it won't capture the magic that made Mario Galaxy so special to me. Of course i'm one in a million but im sure i can't be the only one who feels this way? I have no doubt that the movie will be good in the sense that at the end of the day it IS a tribute for the game, but i really hope they capture the magic the game was able to evoke.

I like that a big part of Rosalina's character, is her devotion to family and that she seems to become more open and happier with each new Mario game she in.

It’s me, or Mario Galaxy has the best videogame music?

Honestly disappointing that they didn’t play this song. Anywhere, from what I’m aware of. THIS IS Galaxy.

How do you make a Mario Galaxy movie without this in it?
