In 2010, deep into the Atacama Desert in Chile, an unstable and dangerous mine under a mountain collapsed. This collapse trapped a group of 33 miners 2300 feet underground, leaving them with no chance to escape.

This video took me the better part of a full month to make. Please enjoy :)

This isn't The Incredible Thai Cave Rescue, and this isn't Buried Alive - Chile Mine Rescue. This is The Incredible 1,656 Hour Mine Rescue, a documentary piece based off the chile mine disaster in 2010

It's really sweet that someone was trapped underground for over 2 consecutive months and he still had the idea to bring some rocks as souvenirs for his family 😭

Imagine being the last person rescued. Everyone else is already up and you wait for the capsule to come for you. That had to be the most terrifying feeling ever. What if it never comes?

It’s rare to see a leader who actually gets his men out first. Props to Luis

Luis is truly a leader, and probably the reason they mostly survived. Props to him and all 33 men who literally didnt see sunlight the hallucinations must've been insane

Never cheap out on safety equipment, especially not on a MINE

seeing the note they taped to the drill brought tears to my eyes. imagine the relief the rescuers felt, to realize that they're not too late.

1656 hours is 69 days btw

This will go down as one of the best rescue cases in humanity, the fact that none of the 33 miners died or even went against each other is amazing, and so did the people who saved them in the surface.

Imagine being the last person in the MINE for 70 days, proberly hallucinating scary shit, in a huge dark tunnel, starving, mentally and physically unstable.. unsure of what could go wrong, what if that last guy couldn't come out, the amount scaryness and the fear factor. Props to the leader, may god lead him through the right way and give him guarrented heaven.

I love that someone in a previous comments section told him to speak slower. He didn’t take offense to it but instead he listened. Much respect. You’re on the way to being a master storyteller 💯
