I studied at the Higashikawa Japanese Language School in Hokkaido for four weeks. September 17th, 2026 was our graduation day!
September 17th to 21st will be my solo trip in Sapporo.
September 18th: The weather was great today, perfect for an outing. I first visited Sapporo Art Park, then took a walk in Nakajima Park in the evening.
Unfortunately, I didn't notice that the Toyohira-kan Museum closes at 4:30 PM, so I couldn't go inside this time. In the evening, I went to Odori Park for the Sapporo Autumn Harvest Festival, enjoying some snacks for dinner and soaking up the lively atmosphere of a Japanese-style night market.
Even without a car, you can have a very fulfilling time around Sapporo just by using the subway and buses (plus your own two feet)! In the future, when I travel to Hokkaido, I'll probably stay near Sapporo subway station for the first few days without renting a car. After exploring Sapporo, I'll rent a car to travel to other areas.
The hotel I stayed at this time is right next to Odori Park, with a view of the landmark 'Sapporo TV Tower'. There's an underpass entrance to the left of the hotel entrance, making the location very convenient.
