My best friend of 60 years was just diagnosed with dementia, I am just blown away watching your journey. I ask the Lord for strength to help us navigate this new journey. Your program has been very informative.

Smokey knows that his Mommy is not well. I believe our dogs make our lives so much more relaxed. His mission is to take care of her and it appears she knows that. Precious to watch

Check out the Taking Care of Granny site. He is even starting a non-profit for Dementia/Alzheimer's Care Givers out of SC. It is his Mother-In-Law who was diagnosed with dementia. She uses the word, Heavy, heavy, heavy for her go to now since her language skills have left her.There are others here on YouTube as well if you type in dementia journey as your keywords in the search bar on the top of every page. Not everyone with dementia is as gentle natured as your DW, Trish. The one thing that other channels have taught me is not to correct someone who has dementia or Alzheimers as it gets them confused like in the trivial things like the sex of the dog. You change the subject vs. correcting them, especially when she was worried about the neighbor being outside.

You are doing great! I am 69 and was the sole caregiver to my Mom who died in December, 2025, at the age of 93, and a special mental and physical needs man who was an abused foster child who lived with us since he was 10. He died Feb, 2025 when he was 65 with dementia that continued to get worse. My kids and siblings encouraged me to put them both in a nursing home, but I chose not to. I AM very thankful for Hospice of Alabama. I got to kiss both Mom and JW every night when I tucked them in and we told each other we loved each other A LOT. Hardest " job" I have ever done, and I would do it again! Great job you are doing. You will never regret it.❤

My father had Dementia and recently passed, and I work at a Senior Day Center where we offer respite for folks during the day. i love watching you and Trish! You are an excellent caregiver, hard days and all. I feel like I'm visiting you and Trish each time I watch...,. you bring such support to each other and to others! I look forward to our "visits!"

It’s so beautiful watching you care for dear Trish! You are so good to her! But then, at 8:45, the paranoia in her eyes! That’s heartbreaking! So many mixed emotions in your day to day life. Praying for you both, from England 🇬🇧❤ xx
