There’s this guy in my church.. Tall, handsome, athletic, smart and in the choir so he’s even got an amazing voice..! (Talk about unfair..) It was about three years ago when I noticed his gaze on me during the service, at first, I was put off, I didn’t exactly have great experiences with guys back then.. and I admit I thought he was a “playboy”not for any specific reason other than his appearance, which was wrong, of course.. But that was how he came off to me. But as time passed, I started to see all the little things he would do.. how he would purse his lips when carrying something heavy, or how he would fidget with his left sleeve when he was nervous.. or how he would hide his smile behind his hand, how he would pick up his little sister and swing her gently, laughing as she giggled.. then I noticed how he would stare at me when he thought I wasn’t looking… How his eyes softened when I walked into the room, how he shot up to immediately fix his appearance.. how he would panic and look away when I would meet his gaze across the room.. And his gaze.. was never with lust, just admiration. And before I knew it.. I fell for him. Really fell for him… because for the first time in years, I wasn’t afraid of a man, my skin didn’t crawl when I would catch his gaze.. But he was shy. Real shy… I tried to talk to him multiple times, but he would run, he even jumped over a plant to get away from me when I took a photo for his family. And when he would start to build up the courage to approach me.. He would take a step forward before ultimately lowering his hand and turning away, holding his face I thought it was adorable at first. (Still do, honestly..) But soon, all the times he had ran and ignored me started to become less adorable and more.. discouraging. So I tried to move on. Ignore him… I even tried to dye my hair an unnatural color, purple, but the next day at church, he still looked at me like I was the only girl in the world.. but when he realized I was ignoring him, he would stare at me with the saddest eyes.. his hand clenching his chest.. wrinkling his toga. Before he would look away, pressing his lips into a fine line.. I thought he simply wasn’t interested enough to talk to me.. or he just saw me as a pretty face he could stare at during church.. but didn’t even bother to get to know. I guess I was wrong. Now, as we near the third year.. I have an answer for his avoidance. But, I should start from the beginning.. Or, well the beginning of the worship service. He graduated a while ago.. back in June, I heard he was moving away for school.. Some university seven hours away, I tried to ignore the heavy feeling in my heart and to take it as a sign to move on.. But, after a week, no sign of him at church.. There he was on Sunday morning. Sitting in the choir loft, his gaze, reminiscent of a sailor who, after years at sea, was finally home and able to see his love again, was fixed on me as I took a seat… I was overjoyed, of course.. but confused. Still am. Anyway, the lesson was about marriage, very timely since my parents had just gotten married yesterday.. (A bit late, I know) But then the minister spoke, “Brothers,” He began, “When choosing your wife..” I glanced over at him, and he was staring. Right. At. Me. His gaze impossibly soft.. filled with longing, his head tilted in such a way that made my heart skip a beat, smiling softly.. I quickly looked away, trying to pass it off as a coincidence.. It seemed during that last service.. He was staring more than usual, maybe I’m reading too much into it.. but the look in his eyes were as if he were saying goodbye.. As I was trying to will away my feelings, after church, his mom went up to me and made some small talk.. (Nothing out of the ordinary, she’s a very kind woman and we talk often..) Then, she got really excited and asked, “So! You’re a senior now, right?” I was taken aback and said, “Ah, no.. I’m a junior..” Her face fell, she looked disappointed as I heard her mutter, under her breath, “Ah.. Too young for (his name), he’ll have to wait..” Before I could even react, she already said her goodbyes and walked off.. I thought I was hallucinating. I knew his father liked me.. Since his father would go out of his way to greet me, constantly pushing his son towards me. But I had no clue his mother also knew! And was just as enthusiastic as his father! What a surprise.. My heart’s still racing just thinking about it.. I suppose they think I’m a good fit for him. Now, I know the reason he was avoiding me was because of age.. I’m 16. He’s 18. Does he truly like me that much that even friendship is unattainable? All my attempts at friendship were met with him turning as red as a tomato and scrambling off with some weak excuse.. Though, I still think of every interaction we’ve had often.. even if it ended with him running off. But, even with this.. My heart is still heavy.. After all, he’s still moving far away.. Most likely for four whole years, my heart aches at the thought he’ll find a smarter, prettier girl.. one that he could actually talk to without becoming a blubbering mess… And he’ll move on. While I’m left behind.. Still dreaming of his soft gaze and his smile. I suppose it’ll be for the better if he moves on.. I just hope that when that time comes, I’ll be able to move on as well, my heart may ache, but what matters is that he’s safe, healthy and most of all happy.

To my mother please rest  I know all difficulties you been through, even if you never say it that your tired. And I know you will never have time to read this but I want you to know that even if you always scolded me every morning. I still love you 🩷

listening is good!!!!

Perfectly balanced for relaxed listening.

Architecture of the soul is built not by the triumphs we shout about, but by the quiet, daily battles we fight against our own darkness.

To my grade 8th year crush Kenzo, I miss us talking back then, could've kept our relationship if only I didn't transfer school, I hope I see you in the future.

This playlist is everything. You’ll feel every word, every beat, like it’s meant just for you. Totally lost in the vibes. 💫💘
