4:58 if you master it slowly, you can master it quickly

Why is this  channel  so under rated? Dude you're  awesome.

I get really tongue-tied when I try to triple-tongue or double-tongue with strange rhythms, even without my flute. Do you have any tips for this?

Thanks so much for this, I played the flute for 20 years -- taking professional lessons -- and no one ever broke this down so fundamentally. This is so easy to understand and to practice.

I'm a flutist but also a speech therapist, so from a linguistics perspective, substituting D for T and G for K as in duh guh instead of tuh kuh builds up less air pressure behind your tongue and would be easier for people who are struggling to just say (without their flute) tuh kuh tuh kuh.

Also, Amelie warned us to not break the airstream with tonguing, and that reminder might help you a lot if your tonguing breaks down. Finally, a speech exercise for tongue coordination improvement is to practice tonguing using different emphasis patterns like: TUH kuh  and tuh KUH, or for triple tonguing --
TUH kuh tuh,
tuh KUH tuh,
tuh kuh TUH,
and even KUH tuh TUH for triple tonguing an accented note.
Thanks for the great exercises, Amelie!

I even cant say ktk ktk ktk with normal speed 😅

Yikes this is hard but I'm practicing!!!!!

I just started crying because i can't do it because i don't understand the placement of the tounge while actually blowing air into the flute while doing the tktk and dgdg

I'm starting high school band next year and I've been practicing circular breathing and double tonguing. I LOVE your account so much

I love this!!! I’m a flute player and just discovered this channel and i feel like I’ve found my paradise !!! Thanks for these tutorials, I’ll have to check out everything else!

I'm a student studying flute in Korea. I have a question [What is the difference between 'takataka' and 'tukutuku'???]

I've been playing flute for at least 3 years now and I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't know this existed

Brilliant. After 30 years and playing up to Grade 6/7 when I was 16, it's time to start learning again 👍

I tying this and share this with my teacher 😊

There's a wonderful article that deals with French pronunciation and how it affects flute playing. This includes the controversy between 't' 'k' and 'd' 'g' among other things.
The reference is: Valette, Rebecca M. “The French School: What is so French about It?” The Flutist Quarterly 36, no. 1 (Fall 2010): 22-35.

That was pretty informative

Hi Amelie! Thank you again so very much for this video! For triple tonguing, your suggestion to practice "KTK KTK KTK" has been invaluable to me. It makes practicing "TKT TKT TKT" so much easier. "KTK KTK KTK" was really difficult for the first few days, but now it's become much easier in a remarkably short period of time. Thank you!!! I feel like I should send you TONS of money for all of the great advice you've given me. How do I repay you? I'm so appreciative of your help!
