My uncle Nigel (still alive) is an amazing man.  He worked for Laings and he told me he was in the first group of people to walk across the Severn Bridge when it was completed, accompanying the local Scouts and dignitaries obviously.

Since you have arrived at Chepstow you now have to start the famous Offas Dyke (which runs along the border between England and Wales) and head north!  I highly recommend it although if only done Hay On Wye to Chepstow in one go, and some other parts in stages.
