man we need some more Nujabes after this one for sure.

Fun fact: Nujabes and J Dilla were born on the same day and both went on to become incredibly influentual and genre defining music producers that also unfortunately died young.

Modal Soul by Nujabes is an essential album .

possibly the best youtube notification ever

RIP Nujabes.

you listen to Nujabes for the first time twice, the first one you really enjoy, the second one when it comes on at the right moment and it changes your life

You’re actually kind of right, from how I understood it and from doing some research, the Luv(sic) hexology can be interpreted in three different ways: Shing talking about Jun (Nujabes), talking about a love, or talking about his love/relationship with music itself. The first three parts were all made and released separately, and then he told Nujabes he wanted to do three more. The latter three were all released posthumously, with the 4th and 5th being worked on before Jun’s passing, and the 6th only after the beat was discovered on Jun’s phone titled “Luv(sic) Grand Finale”. As to what each song means, it depends on your interpretation, but in general from how I’ve come to interpret them as have others: chance encounter, first true meeting/love, coming together again after some time and difficulty, being together, passing, and a final tribute or reunion in the afterlife. There’s also other background like Part 2 being made not long after 9/11 and Part 5 being a tribute to a fan as you saw. Absolutely special piece of music.

Listening to Nujabes for the first time alters your brain chemistry in the best way possible

I genuinely suggest looking up how some of these beats were made, the sample chops are absolutely genius.

Everyone talks about Nujabes, rightfully so, but Shing02's pen is really, really good. The final passage of Part 5 is one of the most beautiful pieces of writing.

woah, you are in for a treat with this one

Nujabes is such a legend. He inadvertently spawned an entire subgenre and arguably hasn’t ever been topped since. Love that you got to taste what he has to offer and there’s so much more to discover.

I could be wrong so sorry if I am, but I do believe I recall an interview with Shing02 where he said at least for the early parts of luv sic that he looked at it as he’s rapping to “music” or his love for music but as if this “love of music” was a goddess and how his relationship changes with music as he gets older with each part. Great reaction tho man! Keep it up!

I know it’s not officially part of the luv (sic) saga but I think “perfect circle” is like a come down from the grand finales high.

Like an encore.

Plus it samples lyrics from the finale, so I always listen to it after.

man this got me emotional too. love you bob

I love the line "I feel free when the world doesn't owe it to me." That's going to stick with me.

I get choked up on part 4 just thinking about part 5, i adore this album with all my heart

I must be dreaming, searching for a nujabes reaction every few weeks and now I actually have one of my favs reacts to him😭 „Metaphorical Music“ would be the Next recommended Album by him
(40:23 in this case id also recommend you to listen to the Samurai champloo album, thats an anime nujabes did themes for with incredibly beautiful beats, would love to see you react to it but if not then id still really suggest you to do it in ur free time)

YEEAEEAAHHHHHHHHHH

Watching Shingo perform this Hexalogy live like a year ago was an unreal experience. It was so incredibly moving. I adore these songs with all my heart

What really makes me think and appreciate this record more is that it basically stretches the entirety of Nujabes career. Part 1 came out 3 years after he started and part 6 came out almost exactly 3 years after Jun passed
You can literally hear his sound and quality evolving over the years
