I truly hate to see these horses so neglected, darn near to the point their feet are rotting off of their legs. No animal who works or is kept as a pet deserves to be so thoughtlessly mistreated and ignored. I am a firm believer that people have a right to privacy, mind your own business right… But when it comes to this kind of neglect the right to privacy has been taken for granted and is no longer deserved, because there’s nothing right about ignoring your companion. I am 100% thankful and grateful this man has taken care of this animals feet. God Bless you sir.
I'm glad you were able to address that issue. I can only hope the owner brings the horse back for follow up care. This didn't happen overnight. May they walk forever with rocks in their shoes and get a clue how it feels for horses to have untended feet.
In awe of your skills. That looked tough, all the way through. I really hope the owner is going to do what it takes to take care of that horse going forward. I would say it's hard to believe anyone could have let it get that obviously bad to begin with, but I've watched enough of your videos to know better. Thanks for all you do.
This broke my heart. This horse was clearly very sweet and patient and had been trained on how to have their hooves trimmed and yet their condition was allowed to get so bad 😢
I love how normally he's walking at the end with ice perky ears.
I used to be a nail technician. I am blown away by how similar this is to Tinea pedis infection of the onyx (nail plate).
It causes onycholysis, or separation of the plate from the nail bed, and hard but crumbly nails. The fungus and skin build up to the point of deforming both the nail and the bed.
Treatment includes scaling all infected material until healthy grows out (a year or so) plus topical and often oral medication.
