То есть Николай I вовсе не "издевался", так сказать.
Хотя уже и тогда были люди, которые были способны "распознать". По воспоминаниям, как-то Бетховену его племянник подсунул некую книгу Вальтера Скотта (в немецком переводе, конечно). Тот прочел страницы три - а потом бросил книгу в угол комнаты, крикнув: "Этот малый пишет только ради денег!" И племянник стал возражать - мол, всё-таки это не совсем бесполезно, поскольку там много описаний исторической Англии и. т .д.
Однако когда вскрываются какие-то моменты из его жизни, и что он чувствовал себя загнанным в угол, и что ему надо было иногда выживать, как нам, выбирать между честью и стабильностью... Я его с каждой истории только больше уважаю❤
