This documentary traces the life of Simón Bolívar soldier, statesman, and one of the most consequential figures in the history of the Americas. Born into one of Venezuela's wealthiest colonial families in 1783, Bolívar would spend the better part of his adult life in the field, leading armies across some of the most difficult terrain on earth in pursuit of a single ambition: to end Spanish rule in South America.

His story is not a simple one. It moves between personal loss and military triumph, between democratic idealism and the temptations of authoritarian power. It is a story shaped by the revolutions convulsing the Atlantic world in his era and by the particular geography, social complexity, and political instability of the continent he sought to unite.

This documentary draws on the full arc of Bolívar's life his privileged and troubled childhood, his years in Europe, his extraordinary campaigns across Venezuela, New Granada, Peru, and Bolivia, and his difficult final years, in which the republic he built began to fracture around him. It considers what he achieved, what he failed to achieve, and why his legacy remains so fiercely contested to this day.
