Hidden among the forest, Szmaragdowe Lake is known for its distinctive emerald-green color.
The unusual color of the water is connected to calcium compounds present in the water, giving the lake its characteristic emerald appearance.
The lake was formed in a former chalk mine after groundwater flooded the old excavation. Over time, nature reclaimed the area, creating a unique and mysterious landscape where the deep green forest surrounds the emerald surface of the lake.
A place shaped by nature, time, and water.
