I completely agree with your food / nutrition philosophy. I have been eliminating processed foods since 2008 and try to influence others about this.

We homeschooled and homsteaded with our 8 children in tow from 2000 till 2016. At the time, only Backwoods Home and Back to the Basics were our only guides. Enjoy your journey! It is worth it.😊

Joelle, I loved watching all this cooking from scratch. I get so many ideas from you. I'm sorry to say I was one who cooked with all the boxed mixes of food for convenience. I didn't realize about the added preservatives and junk in the food. All I knew was it was delicious, easy and my kids loved it. I was a busy working mother of 6. Now I'm in my 70's and have gotten many of my family to not do what I did and to eat healthier. Sometimes I feel like a newlywed just learning how to cook, lol. But at least in my old age I eat healthier and I feel pretty good other than aches and pains from working in our large garden. I even bake my own bread. Better late than never. BTW your kids are just adorable. I loved seeing so much of them in this video. ❤

I completely agree about salad dressings!
I will have to try more variations!! Thank you
I created a lime, whole avocado, some maple syrup, can add yogurt or sour cream, water blend, salad dressing, can add peanut butter or mustard, other seasonings, not bad❤
I will try mayo again ❤

Sourdough tortillas are so good. But so time consuming. I usually make 3 dozen at a time. This weekend I made chicken bone broth. I picked off the meat and used the leftover carrots and celery and combined them into a pot pie. Ohh my gosh. It felt so good to not waste any of the items. Thank you for inspiring us to keep growing and teaching us how to be brave and cook from scratch.
