watched all 6 episodes , look forward to more, well done

I live in Harrogate and I was officially diagnosed with ASD and slight traits of ADHD last year when I was 50 in October. I have struggled so much with jobs, relationships friends and having a partner. In 2024 I had 22 job interviews and I am still unemployed. I got the sack from a company in November 2023. So, watching this awesome television show is brilliant and moving emotionally. Also when I was at college I was based in York in the 1990's so I recognise a lot of the places and buildings.  Well done to all involved with the show Patience on CH4 💜

I'm watching the series now. A someone who's had Autism all his life, but only found out in around 2018, i've been dealing with it ever since. This Drama I can relate to how Patience is feeling and how she deals with situations. I love it. more please.

As an older male late diagnosed autistic I have found this discussion has touched so many of my autistic traits such as being external and empathic which served me so well when I worked in the hotel business.  I was also so good at masking that people never realised I was autistic until I told them following my diagnosis (at 60)

Hello. Just binged on all six episodes over three evenings 👏🏻 I received my ASD diagnosis a few years ago at the age of 55. I work in digital and often have to present concepts to the team or to stakeholders. If presentations are scheduled for the morning, I need the rest of the day to decompress, if they are in the afternoon, I spend the day going over and over the script in my head. That clip from the first episode where Patience had written down and ‘rehearsed’ her phone call to Detective Bea, and her sense of anger at herself for the ridiculousness of this strategy, nearly had me in bits - I so felt for her. Someone in the comments described Patience’s character as ‘generic’, and while I kinda understand what they’re getting at - most of the big ASD boxes were ticked -  that’s ok. I hope it’s NT people who stand to gain most from watching, particularly if they have a friend, classmate or colleague on the spectrum. Well done to all involved 👍

I've just watched the whole series and I loved it. As a late diagnosed autistic, at 50, a couple of years ago, I could really relate to Patience and knew exactly what she was thinking and feeling in various situations. The anxiety, overwhelm, stimming, literal thinking, the feeling of not fitting in, not being understood and so much more; all conveyed in a very respectful way, illuminating how we can struggle in a variety of situations and without making a mockery of us. I think Ella did a brilliant job in the role and the whole production is to be commended for giving a more real and less stereotypical representation of autism than is usual. I hope there is much more to come.

this is the first show that I have seen that really shows what I experience and now I know why... these two beautiful women are evidence that we can succeed xxx

Please, please, I want some more,  I loved watching Patience.  I hate having to wait another week to watch the next one.   It was just brilliant.

Can't wait for series two to begin but as production was only starting in early January 2025 I expect to have a long wait. Honestly don't understand the big media reporting on why people switched off early ⁉️ More fools them, it was fucking excellent.

Born 1991 diagnosed at nine, fan of Astrid Murder in Paris, this show was amazing I was hesitant at first since “Astie” as I call her is dear to me and Autism and the AA support group itself was a huge aspect of that show, (every episode has at lease one mention of it) I was delighted with Purvis’ performance and learning that she was also neurodivergent was a huge relief because while I personally don’t mind I can understand the perspective that women who have Patience’s lived experience deserve first crack at playing her and Ella did a fantastic job of using her own experience and base understanding that is non-existent in neurotypical’s (through no fault of their own), to bring her own spin on my most beloved and favourite detective. (records archivist XD)

Beautifully portrayed. Give us greater understanding of Autism. Another series please ❤

Excellent show and incredible actress!! More of her please and more neurodivergent shows!! ❤❤❤❤

how lovely to see this, what a lovely person Ella is, have been watching the series and think its great x

watching it now...its very good

Great interview & chat. I am really enjoying 'Patience' so far. Very strong cast and stories, kinda reminds me a bit of Ludwig blended with Professor T (which is a good thing). Being th paraent of 2 adult autistic children has been tough for all of us. Neither of them have ever worked, struggle socially and live with anxiety every day. I hope that this drama goes some way in highlighting autism and how employers and society can benefit from more understanding and accomodation in every day life. Keep up the good work 🙂

Really enjoying this series I hope there will be more in the future after last episode tmro

Brilliant,different series,loved it,hope it comes back.

Best show I have ever watched, way beyond any other similar programme on any other channel, I am really looking forward to a new series, soon please!!!

I just want to give her a hug , well done !

Inspiring! 😃
I think I'm very neurodivergent, but don't have a diagnosis.
I can so relate.
I used to live in York (wish I still did).
I'm studying "Understanding Autism" at Keighley college.
My SpIn is honeybees.
I'm really struggling with this crazy world of humans, but Patience helps me.
Thanks Ella.
Best Wishes
