The animal that I nearly hit was a very indecisive goat! 😬

That ruined village in the middle of nowhere. What a mystical place! Thank you for taking me there, with this episode. Keep riding, Eric. All the best for your magnificent journey.

You have become a really good motorcyclist.

Doing a great job out there riding, you’ve reached a skill point where the bike is the limitation now. Safe travels brotha!

When you reach Dakar you have a cold beer and a pizza waiting for you

يا لها من حلقة رائعة حتى أنا الذي ولدت و أعيش في موريتانيا تفاجئت من حجم و جمال و روعة الصحراء شكراً Eric 🧡🫂

Poor little Kawi was gagging but heroic! So glad you were not injured in the crash. The desert scenery is magical.

Here’s another opinion on the engine overheating issue.😅

In my experience, you should keep the RPMs up even after the engine has been under load so that the water pump continues to generate high flow and the radiator can dissipate heat more effectively.
I’m familiar with this kind of problem from a friend in the Alps who has a high-displacement engine and used to drive at low RPMs, which caused these issues. Increasing the RPM solved the problem.

Great Videos. I love your channel and your progressions. ❤

The desert is beautiful.  I am loving watching your journey.

Empires rise and fall.
Sad to see Ksar El Barka being abandoned whereas a town from the similar epoch named Oualata and located in the south eastern corner of Mauretania still is inhabited due to it's water source. 4000 people who may move elsewhere when Oualata might share the same faith as Ksar El Barka.
Thank you for exploring the paths of ancient African civilizations before the colonization and cruelty of European nations.

One thing that always strikes me is the rubbish just everywhere.  Even where people rely on the ocean for their food and their lively hood the beach and water was  covered  with rubbish. We as humans are filthy, I guess the only difference here is we bury all that same crap in a hole and think we are better, but we are probably not.

I think your interpretation of a ‘road’ is quite generous! Safe travels!

You should have Kawasaki as sponsors , these are great ads

Back in there day it was probably wetter n greener

Hi Eric and everyone, hope you’re having a wonderful day  the drone footage of the village wow wow absolutely amazing view.

a shout out to the little KLX  she definitely. Worked hard today.    And at 27:23 Fairplay to Eric not easy to see little animals when the sun is that low

You're doing great! It's been really cool to see your skills progress like they have. Stay safe brother!

Should have had a chat with Noraly (Itchy Boots) before riding in the desert.
You seem much more confident, despite the desert' experience.

How many air filters do you carry with you? I would think riding through a windy desert for 400km would completely plug up a filter. Probably half that distance would fill it up with sand. Make sure you are getting a really good seal when you install your filter and I would recommend a little bit of grease on the sealing surface. I used to race motocross on a pure sand track and witnessed a few engines seize up due to a poorly installed air filter. It happens quickly. Love your videos! Safe travels.

By far, this is one of the best episodes I’ve watched, especially the drone footage, well done Eric 👍 keep up the great work.

About the frequent overheating light in the desert:
The coolant level of my Voge 300 Rally seems to be a critical point or there is too much air in the system from factory. I refilled the reservoir twice within 2.000 km as it was empty.
The engine is based on Kawasaki KLX300 and you may want to check your coolant level on a regular base to prevent overheating at least from this side.
The soft sand is damanding from both: man and machine.
Thanks for sharing the track on your website and save rides 🍀🍀🍀
