Following parent FirstGroup's purchase of Grand Union, the services for which they were awarded the paths will now run as low cost intercity services, which meant I was able to secure a ticket for just £20 for over 6 hours of travel, but do you get more than you bargained for? One of the joys in the early days of Hull Trains was the bar/cafe. The staff used to bring a variety of cakes to sell, all excellent

As a Glaswegian, this represents excellent value for money and is easily accessible to me in the southeastern suburbs of Glasgow, and before Lumo, I'd rather travel on a freight hopper all the way to London for any amount of money, than pay Avanti prices which have been frankly taking the pss for years along with their predecessor.

Since Preston is 20 minutes away from my local station, this has certainly expanded my options on where to go by train! I can use this service to either make a daytrip to Stirling, travel onwards to the Highlands via an easy connection, or have a cheaper alternative to London without having to change at Crewe first.

I did lumo from kings Cross to Edinburgh, the train only stopped at Newcastle. The staff were great and I had a sandwich and 2 beers which were fairly priced. Overall I enjoyed my journey with lumo

If you're going to Scotland on the WCML from MKC after 9.00a.m without changing trains Lumo is your only option. Avanti don't bother stopping there, on their Scottish service. Such is progress.

I retired last year and I want to travel without flying. Being in Scotland, the classic problem is getting to London. I have been collecting YouTube vids to educate myself, and I was very interested to see this train service. Think this is a fantastic addition to trains from Stirling. I've worked in Stirling for the past 30 years, and love the connectivity here and one station down the line. This is super exciting.

15:50 this is another significant reason for the longer journey times with Lumo - they're restricted to the slow lines for almost the entire length of the Trent Valley, as can be seen here.

I semi frequently travel from Preston to London and anything that is an option not to use Avanti is welcome.

I used to travel from Stirling to the North West of England quite regularly. First time was with a Coronation Class to Carlisle and then to Preston and Liverpool with a Clan. In later days it was a Brush 4. I would add as a postscript that I am sure Larbert had a direct London service until the 1980s, I also remember "The Clansman"

This is a nice train from London Euston to Scotland. I love the way it stopped at two eastern suburbs of Glasgow, those being Motherwell and Whifflet.
