Germany has finished 8th eight times at Eurovision (most recently in 2012), more than any other country.
There is no official 8th place for six of the contests – 1956, 1962, 1966, 1968, 1969, and 1974. In 1956 only the winner, Switzerland, was announced. In 1962, 1966, 1969, and 1974, two songs shared 7th place by achieving the same number of points. In 1968, three songs shared 7th place by achieving the same number of points.
