Thank god jace asked Lindsay to be a stay-at-home wife and mom, she seems like she would be a nightmare at a workplace stirring the pot and being highly competative xD

Look people.  DON’T stuff your turkey.  I had to learn this after I turned 70.  PLEASE don’t wait so long

Internet taught me about “spatchcocking” (which sounds obscene and may also be).

It involves cutting a turkey open along its backbone and removing the backbone.  THEN pressing down on the turkey to flatten it as much as possible and finally roasting the turkey for approximately singularly FEW hours depending on the size.  And if you are AMERICAN or even particularly wise, you also place the turkey into a roasting bag to keep it moist.

AND if you are me, you spread YOUR MOST treasured stuffing into the bag prior to adding the spatchcocked turkey on top of it so that the stuffing absorbs the turkey juices.

I live in Sweden — for the last 28 years.

EVEN FINDING a (FROZEN) turkey is grounds for a major celebration!  (Hey guys. Let’s go to McDonald’s tonight!)

I am not adverse to substituting goose (which I never encountered prior to moving to Germany), which in fact is EXTRAORDINARY, BUT if I’m missing my US California/German white peoples roots and particularly my parents, then it’s turkey I’m longing for.  Which, by the way, the preparation of was ONLY DELEGATED TO MY FATHER, who prepared the turkey and stuffing EVERY YEAR of his life for Thanksgiving until he died.

My father also executed ALL barbecuing and argued with my mother over the spices necessary for every pot of chili they prepared.

And my mother, dying of lung cancer, tried to teach him her secrets for preparing meals which he particularly loved by preparing them with him.  I know because I moved in with them in those months and I DID absorb as many of her secrets as I could.

My father simply could not learn them because he ABSOLUTELY was not prepared to lose the love of his life and was not prepared to accept a life without her.  He died just a little more than a year after her.

My mother ALWAYS put marshmallows on sweet potatoes.  I have LOATHED marshmallows since I was a young child, but I LOVE sweet potatoes.  So I would laboriously scrape off as much marshmallow as humanly possible, then inhale the potatoes.  As one of life’s great ironies, I UTTERLY WON the heart of my Swedish mother-in-law by bringing her bags of marshmallows!  🤭🤣😁

Jayka  is so gorgeous not only  she’s  gorgeous, she’s also so mature for her age and she seems honest  and kind hearted.

Jayka and Carter just broke up…😅

I learned basics of cooking and baking from watching my aunts n uncle n grandma. Learned flour tortillas from scratch at age 9 ,basics. Soaked up the knowledge

Carter should learn to make  Ahi Poke, Poke nachos and Poke tostadas. All easy, quick n fresh bright, healthy n Hawaiian or inspired by Trad Hawaiian Poke Bowls😋 serve it with those Japanese sodas too✅ great pairing Cooking is not hard...Cooking Great like an Award Winning/Celebrity Chef is hard. But seriously perfecting 7-8 "low skill" dishes for weekly+ meal plans is not difficult thing.

When my mother would make a casserole she would cream of broccoli 🥦 instead of cream of mushroom 🍄 cuz that is yuck 🤮  and the casserole is made with out a recipe just thrown together but really good

So many of these comments are miserable 💀 lord help yall

Yum

LOL   Sibling rivalry in all things!

must be rough, lifestyle then meet someone that will change your world.

i had to put the captions on cause i coulda sworn Jayse said "....because i speak italitan, i have foreskin and lived in Italy......." i was like bruh! 🤣

I became the best cook in my 40’s, so Jaka, you have plenty of time to improve.
I never follow a recipe, today…I just know…and it, always, comes out delicious.
You’ll get there, Jaka!!! ❤️ You and Carter are so adorable. And, Jace, your wife is, gorgeous…and, you’re cute, too. And, one of my favorite, reactors.❤️

i don`t stuff my turkey and i make my stuffing with ground meats usually Beef & or Pork

I think jayse should teach carter how to make the pizza from scratch and Lindsey should teach jayka how to make the casserole. And I think jayse and Lindsey should invite carter and jayka over from time to time so they can learn how to cook.

Oh noes .. I don't like Lindsey one bit .. those are not innocent pranks. She is mean spirited and I don't know why they keep her?
Ew .. I would hate if she ruined the marriage like that .. her pranks are evil and they consume time and ruin others' plans.

Jayse’s wife surprised me. I didn’t know she was going to be condescending. She looked down on Carter’s dish, yet brought a casserole. lol.
