Navimow X450 Long-Term Review: Is It Actually Worth It?
I’ve now been running the Navimow X450 for over two months on approximately 2.4 acres of my Oklahoma property, and instead of another first-impressions review, this video is about what it’s actually like to own and use one.
So far, the X450 has logged 350+ hours of mowing and the Navimow app shows approximately 1.3 MILLION square feet mowed. During that time, I’ve essentially let the X450 maintain this entire 2.4-acre area on its own.
And this isn’t an easy, wide-open suburban lawn.
I’m using it across long mowing zones and travel paths, hills, uneven terrain, and heavily wooded areas—including roughly three-quarters of an acre with significant tree coverage.
In this long-term review, I cover:
✅ 350+ hours of real-world mowing
✅ Approximately 1.3 million sq. ft. mowed
✅ How I’m using an X450 on 2.4 acres
✅ Performance under heavy tree coverage
✅ The GPS/navigation problems I’ve experienced
✅ Why charging-station placement matters
✅ Areas of grass the mower has gradually started leaving behind
✅ My first blade change and maintenance after two months
✅ What has—and hasn’t—broken
✅ Whether I’d buy the Navimow X450 again
✅ Whether I still recommend it after actually living with it
The X450 hasn’t been perfect. I’ve had roughly eight instances where it lost its position, but most of those appear related to where I installed the charging station. It’s currently close to my barn and trees, where it can struggle to establish a strong GPS lock immediately after leaving the dock.
Once the mower gets into more open areas and establishes a good position, it has been remarkably dependable.
I’m planning to relocate the charging station to an area with a much clearer view of the sky, which should also allow the mower to operate more consistently at night.
I’ve also found a few small areas where missed grass can gradually become a larger problem: the mower leaves a small patch, that grass gets taller, and eventually the mower begins avoiding more of it. I show exactly what that looks like in the video.
But after 350+ hours of mowing, zero major mechanical failures, and very little maintenance, my overall opinion of the X450 remains extremely positive.
Would I buy it again? Yes.
If you’re considering spending several thousand dollars on a robotic mower for a larger property, hopefully this gives you a better idea of what ownership actually looks like after the honeymoon period is over.
Have questions about the X450 or want me to test something specific? Leave a comment. I personally answer as many as I can.
