We've been living in Bulgaria for 3 years now, and throughout all of 2025, we filmed this movie – traveling between cities and seasons.

While roses are harvested by hand in the valleys to produce the world's most expensive oil, cities are abuzz with discussions about the transition to the Euro and Bulgaria's future in Europe. In the summer, the resorts of Sunny Beach and Nessebar dive into tourist bustle, while in winter, the capital fills with the atmosphere of Christmas markets.

We'll talk about schools, peek into a hospital to understand how healthcare works, and share stories about Bulgarian food and daily life. We'll visit a film studio where world-famous movies are made, take a light aircraft piloting lesson, and see what Bulgarian gladiator-style auto racing looks like. We'll climb up to Shipka to learn the history of Bulgaria's liberation from 500 years of Ottoman rule.

This film is not a tourist guide or an attempt to idealize the country. It's an honest story about life after migration, about observations, discovering a new reality, and how Bulgaria gradually became our home.
