Their bodies getting messed up from the teleporter was just a way to explain why their models look weird. The real reason,

Timeline-
Myth Debuted during Covid so they could not travel to Japan to use the mocap studio. Normally JP gens have a 1st year anniversary using their 3d models and performing songs.
At the 1 year mark, Ame who is famous for her Ame Way, took it into her own hands to do just that. She hired SeafoamBoy to make the Myth models using a design by Walfie and a VRchat world for them to perform in.

A few months later Myth held a Halloween VRchat collab, and invited Council to get to know them better as they just debuted 3 months earlier. In the spirit of Halloween these models were made for Council & IRyS.
Myth also debuted their song "Myth or Treat", where these models were used in the MV.  Myth also had costumes for the Halloween party and MV.

This was a promotional vid for Myth's first time appearing in HoloFes, which was the 3rd HoloFes. The "4d" is a nod to how they made their own 3d models ( The "Smolls" in the vid) because they couldn't travel to Japan for real ones. This was their long awaited upgrade.
Ps. It was an incredibly clever way of doing a promo and that's why Ame was my first oshi.

Well this was a thing I forgot about due to it being so long ago as none of the English members had official 3d at the time so they had to get creative. The models are a result from that taken from designs done by "Walfie" and then made to 3d. I think this was also the first official work that Kanauru did for the Holo members. They love placing a lot of Easter eggs in the videos. They mostly do a lot of MVs for songs or transitions for other projects like 3d lives or debuts. Lots of fun and you get to see a bit of how they interact with each other.

As for Council (now Promise,) they are all based on concepts being Space (Sana), Nature (Fauna), Time (Kronii), Civilization (Mumei), and Chaos (Bae.) Irys was more of a solo thing for a long time before grouping them together. Irys is also a concept as well  (Hope) so it worked well.

The worm is Sana mascot. Every Hololive members has a mascot

SANA WORM IS SO CUTE AAAAAAAH!! :_NAYHeart::_NAYHeart::_NAYHeart::_NAYHeart: Also Sana is ETERNAL!! :_NAYFire::_NAYFire:

Wish we had more of these. Time to answer some of your questions and provide some context!

4:50 This model was for a Halloween group collab in VRchat. She dressed up as her mascot character, Yatagarasu, who retains the form of an orange worm with hands.

5:20 That pink swirly is Sana’s size limiter. In her lore, Sana is technically larger than the sun and she uses the limiter to shrink herself down to a more human like size to avoid destroying the Earth again.

8:40 Sana, along with the rest of Council/Promise were created by the gods to embody and govern different concepts.
Kronii is the Warden of Time
Sana is the Speaker of Space
Fauna is the Keeper of Nature
Mumei is the Guardian of Civilization
Bae is Chaos Incarnate
And IRyS is Hope Descent.

11:20 This is a reference to the Halloween collab. Their excuse for having those models is that the time elevator broke and messed with their bodies. The reality is those are their Halloween costumes that they commissioned first. Their official Smol models weren’t ready yet for this video.

11:55 Sana is capable of destroying the Earth, moving planets, and creating black holes. Even with all that power, she is not the most powerful in the Holoverse. Depending on who you ask, the most powerful could be Bae, Ina, or La+.

15:30 Kiara is referring to one of the early collab streams where Kiara joined Calli, pretending to actually be in her room. During this time, Kiara stayed temporarily in Japan and actually hung out with Calli who lives in Japan. Fast forward to the time of this animation. Kiara had to leave and move back to Austria. Calli and Kiara shared a heartfelt karaoke stream as a farewell. Many tears were shed.

Lore wise, a phoenix can’t die and go to the underworld where death resides but Kiara manages through love for Calli.

Context: Myth debuted during the pandemic which made them unable to go to Japan to get proper 3D debuts. In order to overcome this, Ame innovated with the use of these Smol VRchat models. Finally, on March 2022, Hololive 3rd Fes. Link Your Wish happened. They finally got full 3D models and were going to be on stage for the first time.
This video was a promo for such a big milestone.

Oh, going back this far. Since half of them graduated by now, this feels really nostalgic.

Link Your Wish is the third FES concert event, and the first for the Hololive EN. At the time, things were still a bit rough. Ame really tried to hype it up her way, and she succeeded.

And yes, Sana is eternal 😊

Sana is ETERNAL!!!

So the "old times" Kiara was referring to is likely this.
When Myth first debuted Kiara and Calli were shipped together. TakaMori. This is basically because they did a lot with each other. They were shipped pretty hard by everyone and Kiara ended up leaning into it.. a little too far. Calli actually had to (politely) tell Kiara to.. slow down because it was getting weird for Calli.
Luckily for us everyone in Myth are very close and understanding and so Kiara did back off and TakaMori still exists to this day. Even Calli will make jokes about how "close" her and Kiara got from time to time.
Gura and Ame also formed a unit called AmeSame (pronounced Ah may Sah may) Ames name and the Japanese word for shark.
Many units exist now in Holo, some even cross regions. Like Kaela from HoloID and Biboo HoloEN with Grindstone. Most are within their region however. Liz and Nerissa (Bloodraven), Gigi and Cece (Autofister.. yes.. thats their unit name) Bae and Irys (BaeRyS) and so on.

Also i think i saw a few comments explaining the Council thing, so ill keep this very short. Council are all beings which represent a force or idea in the universe. Bae (chaos), Kronii (time), Sana (space), Fauna (Nature), and Mumei (civilization). They basically are those concepts incarnate. So. Sana can talk in space because she is space. Literally.

Sorry for the wall of text. I can get carried away with lore :/

sana is from third gen when they were all kinda gods, and sana was responsible for space, also an anagram of NASA
Kanauru (the animator) is The goat

Each member of Council/CouncilRyS/PromiSe embodies an aspect

Sana = Space
Fauna = Mother Nature
Mumei = Guardian of Civilization
Kronii = Warden of Time
Hakos Baelz = Chaos
iRyS = Hope

Another fun video! Thanks for the reaction Nay~

3:40 Oh nyo~

That's IRyS's old model, which had a few issues.
If you'd like to learn more, you can react to "How a PRO Redesigns a VTuber || IRyS 2.0 Design Deep Dive."

Sana is ETERNAL!!!

oh hey, this is the video i mentioned! yay, thanks for watching it!
it was nice seeing you enjoy it, i love gura's little quips. if i remember correctly a bunch of her lines were improved. at the very least the "yeah, fartson" was.
it's also nice seeing all the commenters remember this video too~
17:53 that's very perceptive of you, and you're right, her outfit IS different. that's because dollRys is based off of irys 1.0. about a year after her debut she got a 2.0 model that we see today that is overall brighter in color, has two star halos, has smaller horns, etc.

if you're looking for something with sana, there's an animation called "(HOLOLIVE ANIMATION) a cosmic farewell " by ROAD SIGN. it's a beautiful piece made just before her graduation, but it's also very short (36 seconds). it may or may not make you teary.
something that WON'T make you cry would be an animation featuring gura titled "Gura VS Oreo" by coffgirl. it's 90 seconds.
both could be nice for a compilation video with one being the chaser XD

Wow did not expect to see my name been mentioned at the start, i'm glad you like the video a lot, also happy there is so may in the comments that can explain all of the lore behind a lot of the stuff, in the video, I kind of forgot how "old" it is in internet years. A note: if have you noticed the animation is done by Kanauru, you are going to see that name a lot. One last thing the spaceship the Sunfish is also a reference, if i recall got a Watson,  gifted a Spaceship aka a drawing of the fish shape spaceship in Christmas present, but i do not recall by who.

In the end this animation was kinda an ad for Hololive 3rd concert, "Link Your Wish" wich, IIRC, was the first one to have HoloMyth in 3D, in Japan.

Since Myth debuted around the pandemic they didn't have the opportunity to have official 3D models, so they went for small models. Same for councilRys the models here were from halloween, and from the "Myth or Treat" MV

Council had the themes for each warden:
Sana for Space (that's why she's big and can change size with the limiter)
Kronii for Time
Fauna for Nature
Mumei for Civilization
Bae for Chaos
And Irys linked Myth and Council with Hope

Awesome reaction and how's long have you been a fan of hololive or are you a new fan

I can't believe I forgot about this 😭
