My friends and I visited Ho Chi Minh City many years ago. It was a vibrant city bustling with life and activities. The street food such as banh mi, banh xeo and spring rolls were very nice and the hawkers paid attention to hygiene and cleanliness. In Singapore, we have beef rice noodle soup too, but the one I tasted  in Vietnam was the best (Pho Le at Q.5). The restaurant was recommended by lady receptionist in a commercial building. I also bought some bánh tét for my Vietnamese friend who was studying in Singapore. I've planned to visit Hanoi one week before Lunar New Year to bask in the festive mood and enjoy the cool winter.
