This song was kind of the opposite of the Coolio situation. The agent told him 'No,' but Al was really proud of it, so he posted it online and linked it to an LGTBQ+ charity. At a party Gaga threw, a bunch of her guests were sitting around a laptop listening to the song and that's how she found out about it. She immediately called Al and asked why he didn't contact her and he told her that her agent said 'no.' She said 'yes' right away and Al was JUST able to get it on his Alpocalypse album in time for release.

He once wrote a song that was complete random nonsense for 11 minutes to troll his fans.  He says he didn't expect anyone to actually like the song, it was just to troll people.  Turns out, its' one of his most popular original songs... Albuquerque.

I am glad you watch original videos, around 75% of his videos also parity the original videos also.

He has a few songs which are the feel of an artist rather than a direct parody of one of their songs - "Dare to be Stupid," and "CNR" being two of them.

check out living with a hernia is hilarious. it is a parody of "living in America" by James Brown.

I have a friend who alternates between running lighting and sound at one of the larger ampitheaters in California.  He once told me that Weird Al actually has had more costume changes during his concerts than Lady Gaga does.

I once attended a Weird Al concert where snow blowers were mounted in the rafters of the hall and during the song Christmas at Ground Zero, they turned them on so it was "snowing" inside the theater.  Further, Weird Al's concerts have little vignettes during his costume changes.  Sometimes they are his "interviews" with celebs, others are his "safety videos," etc,.  Additionally, he has, at nearly every concert of his I have attended, walked down into the aisles amongst his fans.  Lastly, when in attendance at his concerts, I am amazed at the variety of individuals in attendance; from soccer moms with their daughters to bikers in leather jackets.  Al's fans seem to run the gambit of, and be widely represented by, different ages, cultures, upbringing, and wealth.

As an aside, I know he has had madonna feature in Like a Surgeon.  I don't know if that was her in this video.  But I wouldn't be surprised if it was.  Al once said that his parents only realized that he was famous when he started bringing famous people over to the house as guests for dinner.  I believe one of them was madonna when he was drafting/working on Like a Surgeon.

Weird Al is The G.O.A.T.

Not only that, the agent put him through a bunch of hoops and actually had him write and record the song only to tell him no.  He NEVER does that but he did because it was Lady Gaga.

He is very dedicated to his craft, the Valmorification he underwent for this performance is extremely well done and carried out.

I truly enjoy joining you in these Wired AL reactions.  Your enthusiasm is refreshing, and so much fun!

You should check out Party in the CIA which is a parody of Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA.

Edit: what Al said in French at 2:31 was “excuse me, who farted?” in case you needed a translation.

So that is correct, for the music video they did edit Al's face onto the dancer.  To be able to do this, Weird Al still had to perform similar dance movements himself so their faces would line up close enough (you can see it falter slightly at the porcupine moment).

During live performances, Weird Al has generally dressed in either the peacock or octopus costumes.

Weird Al also does polka songs on most of his albums.  They are collections of popular songs at the time, but in a single polka song.

One of these polka's is also inspired by Lady Gaga, it's called Polka Face.

Weird Al does great parodies! 😊

He didn't photoshop his face on some girl's body. He photoshopped his face over the original video of Lady Gaga's performance. (only few parts changed)
Most reactors go like "okay, I'll react on Weird Al, so I'll react to the original first just cause" because he is SO GOOD at the video editing. :D

2:00 No, that was Madonna. AFAIK, Madonna is the only one who offered Weird Al a song idea, with Like A Surgeon, for her Like a Virgin.

For a fun video, try to name all the cameos in Tacky.

Frogleap Studios also does fabulous Gaga covers.

You shuld check out Weird Al's Eminem interview.

Also, the girl in the video is his daughter with his face plastered on

The best.
