My mother, who passed away over 30 years ago, and whom I miss dearly every Spring, especially, used to say that ANY plant can be considered a weed if it's growing where you don't want it to be. What you said about your elder flowers reminded me so much of my mother! How comforting that was. Love your channel across the pond. ❤

I didn't notice the traffic noise, just the beautiful sound of birds and nature😊

I love how your videos make me feel.  So calming.

Aah, peace & solitude! How lovely, Kate! How blessed YOU are to care for God’s creatures AND the joy they/YOU BRING TO US,❤😅

Thank you for that lovely, calm 18 minutes!!!!  MORE, PLEASE!!!!!! ♥♥♥

Indeed . . .a piece of paradise. . . blessings, Kate.

I´m 71y...and almost everyone in my family is telling me to slow down, getting rid of stuff etc...because of my age!!??....
But when watching Kate with so many plans and beeing so creative i wish i had a friend or family member who loved to live that.....
Kate is for me an inspiration to live your own life.....
Thanks Kate for beeing You...🙏 🌺 🦋👋...
Greetings from Belgium, Conny.❤💚

Love all your videos, Kate! You ground me in the middle of the chaos that we find ourselves in across the pond. Thank you!

I've never seen a retired person as busy as you are!  How did you ever find time to work?

What a beautiful garden. So rich in wildlife and a pleasure to see. Thank you

So needed to see this. So many people I know have perfectly designed and immaculate gardens and I often am dismayed as we live in the forest and everything is a battle and a mess most of the time. Your videos remind me it’s about working with nature, not striving to mold it into some form of visual uniformity and perfection. Thank you! You have such a beautiful home!! ❤

You’re an amazing person, Kate. Your videos are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your beautiful world. Many blessings to you. 🌸

Ground Elder Pesto
Servings: 1 small jarTime: 15 minsDifficulty: EasyPrint
INGREDIENTS:

65 g | 2.5 oz ground elder leaves
100 g | 3.5 oz roasted & salted pistachio nuts in shells (or 50 g | 1.75 oz if already shelled)
100 mls | 3.5 fl oz rapeseed (canola) or sunflower oil, plus extra to cover if storing
1 lemon, juice only
1 clove garlic
¼ tsp fine sea salt

METHOD:

Wash the ground elder leaves and spin dry in a salad spinner or pat dry with a clean tea towel.
Shell the pistachio nuts, if not already shelled.
Place the ground elder leaves, pistachios, oil, lemon juice and garlic into a food processor or blender.
Process the ingredients for about 30 seconds. Open the mixer, scrape down the sides with a spatula or spoon, replace the lid and process for a further 30 seconds. The final pesto should have a slightly course, grainy consistency.
Taste the pesto. Depending on how salty your pistachios were you may need to add a little salt. I found that an extra ¼ teaspoon of salt resulted in a perfectly seasoned pesto.
If not using the pesto right away transfer it to a clean jar and cover the top of the pesto with oil. The oil keeps air away from the pesto and helps it to keep for longer. I have kept my pesto in the fridge for up to a week. It may last longer.
Use the pesto as you would a basil pesto. Serve spread on warm slices of sourdough toast or stir through warm pasta for a quick and nutritious meal. This quantity of pesto is enough for two generous servings combined with 200 g | 7 oz of spaghetti.

You have such a happy positive outlook on life. I enjoy watching and listening to you.

Your garden videos are always so inspiring! I always think of them while working on my own garden. Thank you for sharing your bit of paradise.

Kate, your backyard looks like a heaven. Don’t worry about any road noise, it’s not really very loud. Thank you so much. Your videos brighten up my day. Glad to hear your pond woes are remedied

I recently found your garden and home channel. Both of which I found very informative and very calming to watch. You made me feel as if I was in the sewing room, in the garden in all weather's and the cabin and the tree house. I loved all your ingenious ideas and particularly the design wall and the toilet curtain which seemed to fit at the end of the design wall perfectly. Thank you for making your followers so welcome and opening up your activities to us.

İ was very very happy to See Eileen in the Pond having fun.❤
