With all the comforts, the Safety wise is very similar to a VW SUV:
1. Laser welded roof
2. Rhino hinges in all doors.
3. Solid B pillars
4. Strong chassis with ARP.
5. 7 airbags
6. Etc....

I got this car just 3 months ago on June 2026 in Indonesia. Almost every reviewer in YouTube says that the 5 link suspension is great in absorbing but what I find is when driving through a bumpy road, this car shakes so much that it's really uncomfortable. I already lowered the tire pressure but still got the same issue.

Exactly what we feel driving it. The RWD is really a joy coupled with the OPD. MG Pilot customisation allows us to disable with just 3 touches those annoying warnings and safety features. The range is as good as what’s stated in terms of WLTP.

Can set in MG Pilot to disable all yr dislikes safety features.

I'm in the UK and I am collecting my new S5 in two weeks time. The S5's annoying alerts can be set in a personal user mode which can be saved so when you use the car you can swipe down on the infotainment screen and press your saved personal user mode before driving. I previously had the MG ZS hybrid which I thought was a great car for the price. We don't have Proton in the UK and BYD only came to the UK about two years ago so I wouldn't consider owning a BYD until they have proven themselves over here. Anyway, great review mate 👍

Test drove last week and booked it but still holding out for the Jaecoo J5 EV launch although I think it won't handle as good as this since that's a FWD. The 350nm torque is simply amazing. At more than half the price you get something that handles like a German SUV ehem ehem. The physical AC controls are an advantage for me. Heavy rebates now which beats the pricing of the emas7 and atto3. The closest RWD rival is the Leapmotor B10 but the MG has a much comfortable interior. BTW the annoying beeps can be turned off and saved as a shortcut in MG Pilot, just need a swipe down on the screen and activated.

Car is good, the sun roof cover is too thin and soft.  B10 seems better

I feel this car suffers from identity crisis from the cabin, seems like the target audience is aiming towards converting ICE users with all the physical buttons and legacy choices instead of being forward looking, plus the infotainment system looks really dated compared to its rivals my goodness.... its really a shame though because they get almost everything right.

Dude. Take up writing. That’s a seriously un-captivating video. Sorry! Lost me by 1 minute in.

Juvenile draggy and ill prepared review. This fellow has been doing this for too long to not have learnt from other proper reviewers, pointless meandering review. This car's plusses are big and the minuses are small but this fellow whose head glares more than the screen he complains about makes it look like they balance each other out. Hope you realise why you are one of the last to get this car for review.
